I like the part where the first guy realizes he needs something from the market.

looks epic... i bet that takes alot of money to make a little island like that. but would suck to fail brut4lly like that, a risk in the game trade.

Is there any reason to do it like that, besides the additional cost of creating an island above the water level?

im guessing its a farmer or someone with a lot of land around their house, so when they realised that there was going to be a flood they pushed a bunch of dirt around their house to keep the water from going in. cheaper than building a new house maybe

It also could make sense that if they know they're in a flood area they might just have these hills built around their houses year round.

hmmm.... not a bad idea.

some of these people that saved their houses thats pretty fucking ingenious...i think they should definately be elligable for some smaller cash payout than they would have gotten if their houses were flooded, from their flood insurer, for all the money they spent fixing it to save the cost of their homes which the insurance would have had to pay if they were flooded like everyone else nearby...

be interesting to find that out, i saw a good uk article about the levees the other day too, ill try to find it again

Cool idea... not hard to figure out this is a measure for flooding and not a stupid design flaw.

would have been even more ingenious not to build their house in a flood-prone area
