Gonna have to agree with Grieves on this one. I will most def buy it and give it a fair shake for nostalgia's sake but let's be honest: Duke was awesome because at the time he was revolutionary and where else could you see eery 2 inch long nippled strippers that turned into decorative wallpaper when the pigs came calling.

The game was great because I was a young man who had never seen anything like this before and it was my first multiplayer experience so of course I have good memories of it, the problem is making that kind of game today is a different sort of beast and being that its from a company previously famous for cover based tactical ww2 shooters. This Duke is gonna be chewing a whole other kind of bubblegum for better or worse.

I kind remember if it Was Duke3d, or Red Alert 2, but it was one of them.

There's deffo a lot of feelings involved in this release for alot of people our age.

Im going to have to disagree with this as well, I'm not sure exactly which Duke Nukem title you've played in the past, but the ones I've played weren't ones I picked up for their in depth plots and Shakespearean dialogue.

DN is about lulz and throwing things at strippers, with some alien stomping inbetween, I'd advise getting it if you're looking for a 40 hour playthrough.

From interviews that I've read and seen, it seems that 3d realms (and the secret company that formed out of 3d realms employees in between the failure of 3d realms and the acquirement of gearbox) had completed the bulk of the game, something like 90% of it was finished. Gearbox came on to tighten things up, polish it out, and get it finished.

Plus it's not really fair to say gearbox will fuck it around because they made those WW2 games...borderlands anyone??? (and to a lesser extent the half-life expansions)

Plus there are apparently a huge number of former 3d realms employees, who spent years working on duke nukem forever, working for gearbox today. So really there is no one better for the job.

I am just afraid that it will play like a game from the early 2000's with the graphics of 2008...14+ years is way too long, especially with how many incarnations this game has gone through...
