someone explain this one to me, you have one guy throwing a ball at another guy with a stick, who is trying to hit the ball with the stick, but at the same time the first guy is trying to throw it so the guy with the stick cant hit it. wtf, wouldnt it make more sense for both these guys to be on the same team?

and wtf is up with having an odd number of "innings", one team has unfair advantage since they get one more batting round than the other

and most of the time everyone is just standing around doing absolutely fuck all anyway

In basketball you've just got a bunch of guys bouncing a ball off of a floor, throwing it around, and trying to get it into some suspended mesh 'basket'.

In hockey you've got guys with skates on ice skating around holding sticks, skating into each other, trying to get some chunk of rubber past some other guy who is standing in front of another net.

Football is a bunch of guys with padding slamming into each other for 15 seconds at a time, trying to get some oddly shaped ball into the other teams 'end zone' and then trying to kick it through a massive tuning fork for more points.

Every sport sounds retarded when you dumb it down.

If the pitcher and batter were on the same team, the first baseball game would still be going on.
Each team gets to bat once an inning! Do you have a wiener? even my girlfriend's 5 year old niece knows this.

Also, I read somewhere that hitting a 90+ mph baseball with a stick equal or less than the width of the ball is technically the hardest thing to do in all sports in terms of reaction time, coordination, and positioning.

Sure is boring to watch, though.

I do understand how people could see baseball being boring, however if you understand all of the details and statistics, and have the time/patience to analyze every pitch every every substitution, every nuance it is very exciting and interesting.

i dont follow any sports at all, but basketball/hockey/soccer make a lot more sense: you have an a object that one team needs to put into their opponent's target area, and keep the opponent from doing the same. the rules are simple and the games are a lot more dynamic and thus entertaining to watch.

baseball is more like golf or lawn darts, its a stretch to even call it a sport

if you never played baseball you wont even come close to scratching the surface. theres alot of game going on even when the pitcher still has the ball in his glove.

If you understand baseball it can be interesting because every pitch is like a play. There is a strategy in how you pitch to people and counter-strategies from hitters, etc.

But if you don't understand it the game is basically watching 2 people play catch for 3 hours with brief flashes of entertainment.
