what made you go from thinking of yourself as a "kid" to an "adult"?

or if you havent gotten there yet, thats cool too.

was it your first serious job?

graduating from school?

getting married?

did u find it to be a gradual change or something sudden where suddenly you acted different than you did before?

curiosity!!!

My age says I'm an adult, but I don't see it.

I didn't figure. I was going to bring it up when I posted...

But then I had another 'fuckit' moment..... and asked what it was really worth to point out.

well since this has already been a thread recently, i am forced to answer the same thing.

the day i figured out that life is random and things don't always happen for a reason. sometimes you draw bad cards and lose. everyone is mortal and most people don't deal with that until they are dying.

cryptic response yeah. see the other thread if you don't know.

I'm still a kid trying to get there really. I think that path to adulthood is about 3/4 taken for me.

I'm guessing around age 20.. Was more of a series of events than 1 event.

Somewhere along the way I figured out that 'adult' is a role just like any other... a mask you can take on and off (whether for practical or decorative reasons). Some seem to find their identity in that mask however, and in turn that underlying reality of who they are becomes distorted... Basically, with 'Adult' there is a choice, with 'Kid' there is only you.

When exactly I figured this out I don't know, but it was this realization that made me no longer think of myself as a kid... but I don't necessarily consider myself an adult either

J, i hope you're not taking my thread idea and doing a SAJ with it...

Honestly, I'm more pissed at the watered-down eloquence than I am at the theft.
