More people are killed by cars every year than have ever been killed bu a nuclear accident. should we ban those too?

and we don't let average idiots operate nuclear reactors.

I was more than ready to accuse Sir-Ex of blatant megalomania for his choice of thread title, but alas it wasn't meant to be.

more people are killed in car crashes annually. but consider the year where fail happens. so this year we have fukishima, nebraska on the edge, and fort calhoun about to spill it's contents into the mississippi , the entire planet is at risk of being in your car dude. even if the plant has genius operators. you cant stop fail and you cant stop the earth from hurling wild cards that change the game.

Cant stop providing energy either.

So without nuclear, how are we going to get it? (moving away from 'dirty' sources)

What about the developing world? How are they gonna get mass amounts of energy? One outlet per household vastly improves the quality of life, and there are millions of people who need that improvement. Should we add them to the dirty grid as well?

Wait a few decades and fission power will be obsolete.

When ITER works, fusion will be commercially viable within 25 years.

With fusion, the end product is ordinary helium with minimal neutron radiation (which can't go very far and doesn't last very long)

And no, we don't risk building large potential thermonuclear weapons all over the world. It doesn't work that way.

los alamos news, feds test for radiation as flames inch closer - http://abcnews.go.com/US/los-alamos-...ry?id=13953953

a rant about the current nuke situation (NSFW- vulgar, and beware the communists! lol)
dude has some good nuclear stuff to say. made today.

where do we get more energy?
#1 renewables- solar, wave, wind, hydrogen, etc
#2 cold fusion-
#3 other ?- necessity is the mother of invention, so let's dump the old world and find the new one.
