just because they didnt find her guilty doesnt mean in reality she is or isnt innocent. it just means they didnt have enough evidence.

I just spent a while in Florida. The way they cover it down there is disgusting and scary. It is literally covered all day every day. I couldn't even turn on the tv to watch the weather without being bombarded with that horseshit.
Since I was down there during the trial people were talking about every new little tidbit when I was out. Discussing it over dinner, analyzing each point made that day during the trial. It freaked me out.
People everywhere I went were talking about this case like it was only the trial. They no longer talked about it in terms of the fact that it was the life of a little girl. Made my stomach turn just hearing about it.
I guess I've shielded myself in a way that I'm still not totally desensitized to all that kinda shit. /reallybugsmeman

part of me wishes to be blissfully ignorant of all problems in the world, but i think thats an irresponsible/childish thing to desire, and if everyone just ignored all the bad things that go on then nothing would ever change for the better

I don't know where I stand on this. I don't have "tv" anymore (by choice), so although i've read things and made myself aware along with the occasional news story, i haven't had it shoved in my face and jammed down my throat, i didn't see it all play out, act by riveting act, with grandiose drama on every channel. I don't know enough to judge this woman for being the cause death to her child. Intentionally, or not. A jury of her peers (7 women, which also says something to me), found her not guilty. I see no need to insist vigorously against that decision. Do I think there are some fucked up things going on here...or went on...? Absolutely...shits crazy. People are fucking nuts. The whole story is fucking crazy, and terribly, terribly sad.

So, in retrospect...i guess i do know where i stand, i just don't know "where" that is. It is what it is.
