Studying the influence of the media, writers like to talk about how its not whether or not facts are presented, but which facts and in what light give the media its power. Fox seems to give up on that and just BS things. Not sure how its legal, or allowed as mainstream news but whatever.

As much as I hate O' Rly, he's a just a political blowhard. Sure he pisses me off but he's, for the most part, harmless (case in point his lulzy boycott on France that did nothing and didn't cost France a cent).

Nancy Grace on the other hand contributed to a woman's suicide by calling her a murderer on air, and she has time and again called for a lynch mob before the accused gets to even sit in front of a judge. Coming from a guy who doesn't believe in black and white morality, Nancy Grace is an evil, soulless person.

Also her accent is grating as balls.

What drives me FUCKING CRAZY about her is how she is CONSTANTLY calling defense lawyers money grubbing, amoral scumbags, when she herself was a prosecuting attorney, a job in which you must try your best to either secure a maximum sentence no matter what the case, or try to browbeat and scare the accused into accepting your plea bargain.

I know that the lawyer profession is a swamp of moral turpitude, but to say that prosecutors have some sort of moral high ground to lord over defense attorneys is insane. Their job is to put you into prison for as long as possible, and if you're innocent and truly want to clear your name, they will just try to bury you deeper. Anyone who becomes or dreams of becoming a prosecutor is about one notch below people who sodomize animals in my book.

taking "the news" too seriously

LIGONIER, Pa. -- Police said an argument stemming over what to watch on television led to a fatal shooting in a Ligonier, Westmoreland County, restaurant and bar.

Donald Holler, 65, was found shot to death when police arrived at Fat Daddy's Place on West Loyalhanna Street early Monday evening.

Patrons told police that the shooting started over an argument about what was on the bar's television.

According to police, Holler got into an argument with Stephen Fromholz.

Channel 4 Action News' Jennifer Miele reported that police said Fromholz is an Army veteran who asked patrons at the pub to change the channel when a story about the Iraq war came on the news.

Police said Holler, who was holding the remote, refused. Police say that's when Fromholz went outside to his car, retrieved the gun, and staggered back through the dining room before opening fire.

Patrons said the pub is a family-friendly place where everyone knows your name.

"Every once in a while, as you all know, we have these unfortunate incidents," Ligonier Police Chief John Berger said.

The chief was able to arrive at the pub just 20 seconds after the shooting happened.

"I had some patrons out in front of the restaurant, as I was positioning the vehicle for my safety, motioning me to come in, that they were detaining a subject," Berger said.

Police said there were about 15 people inside, standing nearby at the time of the shooting.

According to the criminal complaint, when Berger went to handcuff Fromholz, the suspect said, "I shot the guy" and asked Berger to shoot him.

The victim was found with a fatal gunshot wound behind the bar, police said.

"He (the shooter) had an argument with this individual. He left, he came back in and he had a gun," Berger said.

Officers said two patrons were able to grab the shooter's gun and detain him.

"They may have helped the situation tonight. No one knows what the intention of this individual was," Berger said.
