Finally got my Med Card

I can now legally grow and/or buy weed in California, for my own use. So, within 5min of getting the card, I bought some weed at the adjoining dispensary.

The place I went was in Venice. It's called The Medical Kush Doctor (1-310-823-KUSH), and it's right on the boardwalk. The doctor was this old dude who my wife (who works in a nursing home) figured had some low grade dementia. He was quite a character. When asking me what my symptoms were that I needed weed for (depression and anxiety), he says, "That won't stick. Everyone has some amount of anxiety. You got anything else? Migraines, arthritis, something?" I didn't even have to pretend why I was really there.

Then after it's all done, I go over to the dispensary (called The Medical Kush Beach Club, btw), which is in the same building but it's a different business. I fill out my papers, and the girl (who had a really sweet ass, btw) takes me over to the dispensary proper. There's a hash bar, where about 4 stoners are sitting taking hits and chilling, and a lounge, where you can "medicate" if you like. There's one guy in there working a table videogame, totally oblivious to everyone else, and the beautiful view of the breakers you can see out the window.

This entire area is absolutely the most hotboxed environment I've every been in, by far. I actually started coughing when the girl was showing me around. I didn't linger long, because my wife was waiting outside; just long enough to pick up an 1/8th of their discount Sativa strain (called Rigos Tacos, for some weird ass reason - it doesn't smell like tacos).

All in all, part of a fun day at Venice Beach.

BTW, that dude in the black speedo usually carries a spear, which we saw him doing today when we were walking the boardwalk.

Yeah, I've been thinking about starting up a grow (again). I used to grow some fine indoor weed. I always said I didn't for the sake of the Golden Rule: Never tell ANYONE! But now, I don't have to sweat it, which is nice, because I hate to lie to my friends.

I just have to find a Sativa-leaning strain that grows well under HPS lights...

Sincerely jealous... But nice man! Hope you can smoke at an even more peace of mind than before. Have fun trying out all the different strains available.

& I hope it at least helps somewhat in the medical sense

$35 for the 1/8th. $185 if you count the cost of getting the card.

Weed helps with anxiety only in the sense that it helps get my head straight. It doesn't physically change it, it just allows me to see clearly, which gets me out of that anxiety inducing mindset.

Having a card is so awesome. For me it's gone from 'omg I hope I don't get busted driving this weed home' to 'God I wish the dispensary was closer'.

so fucked up. it just makes the injustice all the more palpable where i live.

time to move, is the message. i guess.

yeah, lame reason to move. if you lived in tn you'd be looking for any reason to leave, too.

nah, it's aight. except for the weed injustice.

No, they just made it it's harder for caregivers to make money, for some reason the legislature wants ppl to grow their own, which I am. But I still have a caregiver and can still buy skeeds legally.
