Fall/ winter in NY NY
Does anyone live in New York or have experience of living in New York? What I want to know is what the weather is like in fall and winter. Also, when do the first frosts come?
In all sincerity. fg

I've been to NYC in the winter, it was a hell of a lot warmer than where I came from, but there was more snow. Likely because its on the coast. I bought a fake Rolex for $10. But only because I needed a watch.

it is just a temperate climate in the nyc area. Hot summers, pretty cold winters (been very snowy the last one or two), and perfect spring and fall temps. It is in a perfect location climate wise honestly.
First frost is usually like idk late october? September is a beautiful month here and it starts getting colder during september, then it is fall in october and november, then it gets cold come december and the winter lasts until march. then a good spring and it starts getting good and hot june. I live like on the beach like 60 miles south of the city. Im at the last stop on the train going south/shore from penn station. Plus i like living around here as you can pretty much go get lost in the woods without having to worry about getting eaten or poisoned by some crazy animal. Almost everything is usually smaller than you and non poisonous. Any other questions? Are you moving to the city fg? and why

The farmers almanac is usually pretty close.
I'm not in NY but about 150 miles due north..give or take. We have similar weather...if one could find a web site that you could browse the forestry maps...the ones that show not only the ZONES as well as the topography at 1:20, you'd get a better idea. one indicator I ALWAYS look to is the GOLDENROD....if she is in bloom now..that means that we will have an early winter. (I'll get a pic of her this week and post it up) We're usually good in the field till October -12th. (give or take) The girls then need to be tarped! I had to do that one year when I put in some Bubblegum. Fenderbender must have Grods in his area...wonder if he could do the same?? Is he in Zone 5? One site I found said Oct. 27th as the average last frost date for NYC. This seems a bit late to me. I would have guessed mid-Oct.

Thanks for the informative replies folks.
I'm not planning on moving to the Big Apple any time soon though I would sure like to visit- I love ubercosmo sprawls, I'm like a rat that way. The reason why I was asking about the weather was because I witnessed a debate about whether it was possible to grow haze in NY- this guy was saying the legendary "piff" was grown outdoors in NY. All the responses have confirmed my suspicions- no way without tarps or greenhouses! It seems more likely it imported from Florida or grown indoors. Do you ever get any of that NY haze FB or Geeno? It's legend looms large.

They do plenty of outdor shit pretty far north of nyc. To imply that we import herb from florida, thems fighting words. Virginia maybe or the carolinas. Not fucking florida tho. Honestly I haven't been to NYC in like 3 years but from what I've seen haze was eclipsed by NYC diesel was eclipsed by sour diesel. Also nyc. Sucks come to boston where everything is awesome and the sports teams always win and the girls are smart.

Fucking yeah I used to smoke that stuff all the time. It was crazy. It didnt look like your typical headies but it got you fucking wasted, like a different stone altogether.
NY can produce some quality buds outdoor, wouldn't surprise me. We used to pass off the outdoor as cali indoor dank hydro organic budzzz all the time. We always made sure to use at least 3 z's on buds when passing it off that way too, for legal purposes. |

NY has the Adirondacks which are one of those still yet to be fully explored regions that still exist in the US. Also huge (relatively) indian reservations which cross the border into canada. Not to mention tons of farm and woodland in general. There are crazy amounts of outdoor of all shapes sizes qualities and colors that are produced there.
Yeah to say that NY imports haze from florida is def fighting words. |

Steady on there. I'm not discounting that it may be grown indoors in NYC. But you can't grow haze outdoors in an area where first frost is in October. It wouldn't finish until December maybe. A few titbits of info which I cannot verify at all. I don't really want to get into the debate too heavily as IDK shit to be honest. But the story is that "piff" was run by Dominicans working from FL. Feds bust major marijuana operation, agency says - CNN.com Dominicans nabbed* with tons of pot in US raids - DominicanToday.com 50 charged in huge multi-state marijuana trafficking ring Quote:
NB- I can't link or verify any of this, this is all hearsay.
