Cattle can help prevent desertification and reduce global warming?

I know this goes against popular conceptions, but this Zimbabwean dude has come up with some interesting ideas about how to tackle desertification and fix carbon in soil using cows.

In one hour, says Savory, a half-hectare fire pumps as much CO2 and other pollutants into the air as 4,000 car trips.
1,618,000,000 times 4,000 is alot of car trips.....6,472,00 0,000,000

seems to me the co2 problem isn't lack of cows, but too many fires = wasted resourcs.

Absolutely. But the idea is to prevent desertification and reclaim impoverished land.

not to mention also, vegetation actually consumes co2 to produce oxygen/growth.

something indoor growers sometimes forget.
