My fanny pack

You want my advice? Get a fanny pack. They will literally change the way you leave the house. Fuck if people don't make fun of you; oh they will. But you'll have the last laugh when you watch those idiots rifle through their bulging pants pockets the moment they need something. People look stupid when they reach into their pockets, don't they? Especially when they go in both pockets with both hands because they just don't know where anything is. Then they pat their BUTT and BREAST pockets, looking for a lighter or whatever. When you roll with a fanny pack though you don't need to pat yourself down everytime you need something because it's all right there in front of you in a convienient little pouch. You just open it up, look inside and badda-bing badda-boom you're making it happen.

Seriously though. Now I understand why girls have purses. I USED to think that all I needed was a wallet, but you can't carry shit in a wallet. And a backpack makes you look like a day-hiker or a student. And a brief case just makes you look like a tool. But a fanny pack is just the right size for everything you would ever need at hand. phone, camera, snacks, swiss army knife, pen, paperwork, cards/id's, lighter, smokes, pocket book, breath mints, glasses, chapstick flashlight, and plenty of room to spare.

It's grab and go every day and every night. Throw it in the fanny pack and you're out the door. Don't want to be seen with the fanny pack? Unclip it and leave it in the car. Everything is still in one convienient pouch.

I don't know how I ever managed without it.

Mercury is right on principle. I say this as a former boy scout (I never made Eagle though). But unless I'm hiking. . . Isn't there a more manly alternative? A Batman style utility belt maybe?

the only reason you should ever wear one is if you are a cyclist.

I say this is true too, but if you plan on being a pedestrian for an extended period of time, you're really an idiot if you don't carry some sort of pack with you.

By the way water bottles aren't just for cyclists either. I've saved so much money by carrying my own water bottle. Especially during these summer months, everyone is jealous when I bust a quick swig off my ice cold bottle and they're all bottleless and shit, gonna have to go buy some.

Do you carry one too? I know lots of people probably own them but I rarely see anyone carrying one with them on a regular basis. I always fill mine up before I leave the house.

Next I'm looking to get a lunch box.

I'd rather wear my pouches/toolbelt from construction than a fanny pack. Yes security is a minimum but thats why you have dual hammer slots.

The Mountainsmith Lumbar pack is the only "fanny pack" I'll wear.
