so with all of the chaos in the world today, it's easy to imagine what it would be like if it happened here (North America/Europe) the fair possibility of all hell breaking lose due to mass stricken poverty, natural disasters, war, and endless other possibilities is definitely real.

Put yourself in a dire situation, maybe a nuclear attack happens near or in your state. Maybe the economy completely drops out and mass panic triggers complete chaos. Maybe the fucking zombie apocalypse happens.

What would you do?

How do you think you would/could survive?

Are you well prepared now for something like this?

Would you kill to feed yourself/your family?

What do you think everyday life would be like?

Do you think we would experience complete power outage and dismay or would it just be civil unrest? How would it work?

What would the aftermath be? What would change in society from then on?


It's hard to say for myself, I would think I would seek out friends and family to gain strength in numbers. I do have a gun and would use it if I had to. Food and water is a main priority and when humans feel they need to compete for these resources they turn animistic and desperate. I shutter to think of the things I and others would do to avoid starvation, could you?

What would you do? First I would gather with as much family as possible and we would probably all set up at my parents acreage.

How do you think you would/could survive? We would pool our resource and ration them and we would be innovative and try to produce food/warmth and defend our property with guns. Probably we would also band together with as many neighbors as possible.

Are you well prepared now for something like this? Me personally, hell no. I'm hardly prepared for the end of the month. But as a family we have almost everything.

What do you think everyday life would be like? Probably spent with women keeping up the home and men doing labor and networking.

Do you think we would experience complete power outage and dismay or would it just be civil unrest? How would it work? My parents land has well water, which I think would be managable with a neighborhood cooperation. We also have lots of trees and fireplaces. For sure electricity would be sparse.

The inner city would probably be a war zone to steer clear of. I'd stay in the hills as close to home as possible.

Alright fuck it...here's a tip. This is what my friend in the Army told me and it's pretty much common sense anyhow. The two most important things, by far and away are LAND and GUNS. If you have guns, even if you don't have what you need, you can take what you need.

The people that I'm truly gonna have to be worried about are the people who are prepared survivalists like myself who know what they're doing. Just like you said. You are going to have a lot of enemies, so the first thing you need to do is gain allies. Like my friend said, form a tribe. Tribe can consist of only as many people as you can feed/supply. You think I'm gonna go after yourself or Waves or someone like that? No. Pre-emptive raids on the people that truly pose a threat.

Don't even try to argue strategy and tactics with me on this one. I mean you can try but you'll fail.

Some of these plans (while not MY own) have been in the making for about 40 years.

edit- I actually read your first post Merc and you have some right ideas, however the biggest flaw is building a fire. Fire creates smoke, smoke signals where you are.

it's all about survival my friend. I made a goal about a month ago that with every paycheck I get I am going to buy something survival related, ma's stocking up too. I've also learned how to hunt and trap and track and all kinds of nature skills.

Trust me, I take this VERY seriously. My dad was the same way...he had plans for everything, for instance if the air force base by us was to be attacked. He also had instructed my mom to puncture his windpipe with a pen if it were to become clogged.
