If you were to choose one effect...
of teh weed or another drug that makes it THAT great.. what would it be?
For weed.. for me.. it would be.. the ability.. to see.. things I wouldn't normally. For drink.. I think.. to socialize without.. fuck what the fuck rhymes with this. M |

Cannabinoids give me awareness. I was about to say they take me back a step away from awareness, but I think it's the other way-I'm more aware of why I'm stressing, I can analyze that it's all pretty silly to get so worked up and anxious about, and by the end of things nine times out ten I'm going back to work with a smile on my face.
they do it when I'm at home as well. I can evaluate my behavior with less bias towards my own rightness/wrongness in whatever matter, and usually arrive at more satisfactory conclusions than if I had continued down a stressed thought pattern. They're really a meditation for me. I'm going to have to move to a decrim'd state when the federal ban goes into effect. It's been nice not being totally black market. I don't know that I want to go back to that risk. |

I know what ya mean man.
Sometimes though.. it can be all too much., depending on where ya coming from. Most of the times though, a chance to look at yourself.. from somewhere else analyzing it as someone else. M |

For weed, I love how it makes music sound. This effect is unique to cannabis. Other drugs change music, but not like weed.
For any other drug, synesthesia, I don't think I need to explain why. |

Weed kills the worry and helps me focus.
I know lots of folks say weed fucks with your ability to focus... totally not the case for me. When I get home I smoke a joint and get cracking - and I keep firing those joints up and stay on task well into the next morning. For example, programming. Last few weeks I've been spending a good 6 hours a day programming after work. You might think weed and programming don't go together but there you'd be very wrong. It's totally relaxing and stimulating at the same time, and it's a huge rush when you've set your mind on creating a certain thing and then after spending hours chipping away at it, debugging, and tinkering - all the while stoned as shit and second-mindedly jiving to a steady playlist of great tunes - you finally have it and it works perfectly. And it's just not as good without weed. Sober... I tend to think about other things. I think too much, don't stay on topic. Weed? I think about nothing. It all just comes to me. I sit there, stand there, dance there, and the ideas enter me like they were drifting around in the air - and it's brilliant some of the ideas that come! And I'm always attentive to say thank you, THANK YOU you unknown awesomeness for giving me these ideas, providing me with these solutions, you rock universe. Go you.

Weed makes music sound better and gives one patience with repetitive beats.
So does MDMA but weed is more benign.

I like the effect it has on society. The transition from the 1950's to the 1960's was like:
Conformity. Duck and cover makes sense! (add weed) Fuck conformity! Let's have sex, drugs, peace and good music! ![]() The Rev |

Definitely mushrooms.
I wish I could harness psilocybins power to redefine my reality and shed the vanity of past and future perceptions and instead simply live in the now, with all of it's infinite possibilities. |

The 60s was like not having sex for a year. Suddenly you have it and it's like BAM! Except the sex in this case is assuming the role of the domesticated adult child, where one is free to explore in a suddenly new and malleable reality, where cold truths are either ignored or disseminated into things that weigh lightly on a cushion of drug fueled hope and optimism: a lazy side-effect of the over-kept cradle that is our continuing construct of society.
And lo, we've continued to bask in the glory of our transient luxuries, or failing this, bask in the shady righteousness of playing the critic.
