... and everyone was FAT!!!
I just got back from Great Clips where I was getting my hair cut. The place is right next to a Safeway grocery store and since I had about a 15 minute wait to get my hair cut I amused myself by people watching through the window. One thought lead to another and then before long I found myself engrossed in the realization that 9 out of every 10 people walking by the window was, by all definitions, fat. Everyone seemed to range from fat to fatter. There were only 2 or 3 skinny people out of at least 30 that I observed.
Worst of all was that it was the women that were the fattest. The guys were all fat and ugly too, but it was heartbreaking that my American women are subjecting me to their uncompromising fatness. IT'S NOT FAIR!!!! Oh the despair that grows in my heart when I see how limited the field of fit young women is compared to plethora of round, jiggly females out there. I don't understand what is happening! I used to be sympathetic to fat people. I used to defend them and declare that it isn't their fault, it's genetics. But more and more they grow around me and I start to despise their guts. Why oh why is this trend increasing? Is 250lbs the new 150lbs? |

No, dude. Living in the "first world" doesn't account for an individuals fatness. How could it? Something is seriously wrong here. This has got to be some sort of an evolutionary phenomenon and it's fucking worriesome. Like, this shit can't be easily reversed by any measure.

Or whatever, you know. Everyone is about 100lbs heavier than they should be.
And this isn't supposed to be insulting. But I wonder if it makes fat people happy to see other fat people. Like do they look at eachother and secretly rationalize their fatness like "well everyone else is getting fat now so it's ok that I am too. we'll all blend in together". I would understand if that's true, but, wouldn't they rather be thin? |

Yes fat people help validate themselves through the fatness of others, depending on the fat person.
And it's not going away until the TV does.

you cant seriously blame just tv for the over consumption tendencies of north america. if not tv, there is internet, reading a book, listening to radio, going for a car drive; it's the fact that we are so inundated with easy meal and snack options plus a lazy leisurely lifestyle is the cause of epidemic obesity. that their calorie intake vs their calorie burning is not at the level it needs to be in order to remain fit. so yes, it is a first world problem. we are subjected to a never ending amount of choices of fatty and salty foods, in our fast-paced world where a lot do not feel, or just don't have the option to consume healthy foods either because you cannot afford to, or don't have the time. i'm sure a lot of the time they just don't care, too. it can perhaps be regarded as a mental health problem as well...

with a higher standard of living should come a higher standard of health. the problem is america's inhabitants and its culture more than anything else. in europe people walk everywhere and they dont eat mcdonalds 10 times a week. there they have established diets that are culture based that people have been following for many many years, whereas americas got a McCulture going in the absence of any real history or tradition. things are slowly changing though im not entirely pessimistic about the situation. im an ex-fatty myself and once i actually educated myself about diet and health i was able to take control of what i ate and how i exercised and change my life for myself.

^Good for you waves.
Fat people can play the blame game all day long but pointing fingers wont change the fact that THEY are in REALITY the FAT ones. They are the problem. They are the eye sore. They have to do something about this. People who are already thin can't help them. The fat people have to change themselves otherwise they're going to keep populating. |
