cable companies are such corporate cocksuckers
heres a pretty funny story for y'all
.and possibly a useful one too. so my cable/internet used to cost 99 bucks a month...pretty decent. then a few months ago they sent me some letter claiming that my "promotional" rate was going to end...but also said in the letter something like "call us if you have concerns or want to lower it"... so i forgot about it. come to get a new bill and its 120 bucks! WTF . so i call them and the first asshole dude on the phone is like "ok sir but actually your promotional rate ended, but its good for you because actually you still have a new promotional rate and it would normally cost 140 to get what you have"... needless to say, i called bs... to put it lightly ![]() so then this kid gives me the checklist for bulshitting - 1. but you have espn and discovery those are soo good 2. but you are actually paying less than you would ... (???) 3... tried to say some other shit and im like, "can you just like, you know, put me in the category of non-chumps and connect me with a supervisor" so i go to hold for a few minutes. the next dude says hi sir how may i help you - tell him the story, he goes back to the computer clickety click for 2 mintues and says well guess what i can give you the same package you have now for 95 bucks a month.... so its actually less now than it was before... and some idiot people pay either 120 or 140 a month for what i get for 95. moral of the story, fuck corporate call center people, and stand your ground with em, and you wont pay an extra 50 bucks a month for the same damn service! |

Yeah it is weird the way cable companies do business. Cable doesn't seem like the sort of product you would haggle over, to me cable seems more like a utility and as far as I'm aware you can't call the electric company and be like "lower my rate or I'm quitting". Same with sewer, garbage, etc.
Just tow the line, JKF, tow the line.... |

I'm not sure of it's origins, I just always figured it as another interpretation of walking the line (toe, feet, gettit?), so to speak.
Anyways, I'm not sure I could live with nearly $1200 PA for cable when most of the stuff I watch on TV, and moar is available on the interwebs for free. I got rid of satellite TV after getting bored of 500 channels with nothing decent to watch.

it's 90 for cable and internet, which makes more sense. $45 each, so to speak. still a bit pricey, but then again how else are you going to get the internet? and $45 for TV isn't so bad if you figure it as your entertainment budget.

Any money spent on TV is a huge waste of money in my honest, accurate, and definitive opinion.

Yea yea we get it you hate TV.
Christ that shit is so annoying, people going out of their way to say "I don't watch TV". You're soooo intelligent Sir-Ex, thank you for showering we plebs with your wisdom like so much manna from heaven.

^Have you really used TV lately? It's not like it used to be where everything was live and you either watchd a show or you missed it (or taped it), otherwise you'd just channel surf.
Now days you can pretty much watch anything you want at anytime: shows, movies, music videos, sports highlights. Everything is "on-demand:, if you know what that is, and 90% of it is no extra charge. |

Cable/satellite TV is most definitely one of those products you haggle over, you'd have to be a total mug to pay full price.

As I'm sure you realized, the point of issue wasn't the act of watching tv, but paying for it.
And yeah, if I ever see you online FO SHO. Must be bad timing cuz I haven't seen anyone I added from yahooka online yet. (last time I played was like 2 weeks ago though)
