Smells
Do you keep your home smelling good?
It's only natural that a place stinks sometimes. 9 times out of 10 bad smells come from my kitchen, either in the trash or in the sink. Used socks can also be a culprit of smells in small areas. But for the most part I do believe I keep my personal effects smelling quite attractive. My #1 defense is a clean body. I used stick antipersperant AND spray deoderant for double protection against BO. And I shower regularly of course. And there's also some additional pleasantries like aftershave, cologne, lotion. So I think that when people are physically close to me I'm pretty safe as far as not stinking. I don't think I ever really stink except my breath sometimes because I hate brushing my teeth. I do keep a steady supply of mints and gum and I brush eventually, but fuck if I don't hate the taste of toothpaste. And as for my apartment I always gotta have a good strong candle on hand. If ya'll have ever used those Yankee Candles then you know they'll have your whole place smelling like pumpkin spice in a matter of minutes. So I love coming home to good scents. It's a good sign when you can still smell your own apartment (in a good way) because often times you can't smell your apartment because you're so used to it. So if you can smell it then it means you are taking an active role in keeping it fresh. Same with your car. I think a general rule of thumb is: if it smells clean, it is clean. |

their scents are overpowering and gross and they're insanely expensive last i remember. I've got enough supplies to make well over 50 candles for the price of one of their large ones. whack.
theres nothing like walking into someones house/room and having it smell like a cheap quality candle or some kind of spray. barf.

yea I felt a little awkward when my 14 year old sister walked one step in here and she said "oh my god this place smells like weed!" because all my roomies smoke constantly and that and the occasional smell of cookies is what my house usually smells like.

I don't usually notice what my places smell like unless it's unusually bad. Some times I'll wear a shirt for a few hours after taking a shower and put it on again the next day, and I can really smell the scent of myself. I like it because, well you know that smell your (ex)girlfriend or an old teddie has and how when you smell it, it takes you right back? I get the same feeling for some reason.

I havent read any of this thread yet but let me say this...
i cant stand when i have to smell you by just walking past you, or being somewhat close. You shouldnt be able to smell someone until you are up against them. Insecure bastards spraying the fuck out of themselves with various headache inducing scents.

I have 6 dogs and a cat..... first of let me just say the cat and his litter pan smells worse then and combination of the dogs. But I hate walking into the house and it smelling off. I try very hard to make sure the house smells good. If that means windows open in the middle of winter so be it. ( I live in NY) Yankee Candles are amazing. They are expensive but they are worst it. Cheaper candles are just, cheaper. I also send a little extra on insense a good insense smell a million times better then cheap smoky headshop-esc insense,
