I figured as much on all counts.

I mostly just wondered if you had an opinion about 'why' as I think I've noticed some more comments in the 'less than favourable' direction lately since all this gun biz came up.

Why can't we talk about guns without getting mad a the brown folks....

no one attacked Komp based off of his race in that thread. When has there ever been a even a hint of racism or prejudice in any of the gun threads?

im a serious proponent of nonlethal in-capitation however guns are aight in my book as long as your responsible with them i could care less. on a side note only ever shot a hunting rifle, one time.

No worries man, yea.. the thread is way back in FFA pages somewhere.

Well, in the thread that was closed by Xil and then opened, I felt there was a little more than hinting at frustrations with him 'pulling the race card' and stuff like that... idk... just seemed like uncharacteristic words being geared at him. I realize it was brought up by him, in relation to the screening he gets in airports... and then after that I feel it spiraled a bit, into what I'd say felt a little race-y.

And in some other threads there was some more 'light' references to his pigmentation.

Like I said... this seemed uncharacteristic for Yahooka, and it caught my eye enough to mention it... so I'm just asking.

Answer to your question:

IDK really.... I can't pretend that same 'you fucking idiot' sounding language doesn't come from BOTH sides in these conversations, to be really honest.

I think that when some one states another opinion about the legality or availability of guns it gets pretty 'out of my cold dead hands' pretty fast, which I'd say is a typical angry answer, we've all heard 100000 times before, but it really doesn't engage much of a conversation.

I realize home/country protection is a valid reason to a lot of folks, but it conversely sounds like paranoia to some folks, no doubt and no offense intended by mean in saying so.

It's not 'right' or 'wrong' and I won't comment personally about it.

I don't 'look down on', I'm not really on either side 100%, but I can see where the condescending tone comes from towards gun owners/supporters, but I'd be laying if that same tone wasn't launched back.


All in all, it's an ugly conversation if there is ANY condescending opinion about legal/available/auto/etc.. But on that same note... it's not necessary for people to crash the thread..

It's a public board though, so it's hard to say 'gun owners only', cause it's not what you'll get.

I've spoken my piece and ideas in some of them, but it's not really worth it to me because I know it's a divisive subject, and people don't seem willing to 'talk' about it, before the mud slings.



It's like two walls shouting at each other.
And I think it's fair to say it's 'both sides' looking down, more or less, in this convo about guns unfortunately.
