You should root it, then you can use it as a mobile hot spot, for free...

while rooting sounds like the shit i know pretty much nothing about linux based operating systems or most technology for that matter so im afraid of it becoming a brick/violating my warranty/contract.

I would like to get a smart phone, but I don't want to drop $500 on one and I'm definately not signing up for a contract, last time I did that I owed Telus $750.

What are the specs for that phone?

My buddy just bought a Samsung Galaxy 2 and it has a duel processor and 1080p, does yours?

i've never used an app in my life. i don't understand what they possibly have to offer besides light on a screen. these cell phone addicts need to learn the difference between electronic circuitry and the actual material world in which we exist.

your cell phone wont put you in a house. it wont make you dinner. it wont chauffeur you around. it wont help you in an interview. it wont produce anything..... ANYTHING.

material world > cell phones

I broke my phone on June 11th in a fit of rage (threw it backwards above my head, at the wall, kind of silly really) I've had this phone since January 2008. Old as hell BUT since then it's still functioned like a phone (receives and makes calls) but I can't see anything on the screen... the touch navigation part works but is pointless because you can't view anything to navigate through. Needless to say I feel much more in touch with REALITY from being virtually cellphone-less and still am feeling severely reluctant to go buy a new 'functioning' one. Trouble is, I can't remember everyone's phone numbers, so I just use the ones saved on my speed dial

rootkits - btjunkie

linux is not that difficult to work with.

as far as rootkits go, my experience is mostly avoiding them, unless they're part of an SDK.

Smart Phones eliminate the need for all but the most high end computer functions...

Instead of being bound to a desk, one can use the internet while out in the world, to enhance life, rather than a distraction from life...

Also with a smart phone one has a Swiss army knife of digital devices instead of having to sacrifice dignity packing around a fanny pack as you seem to think as being the more socially acceptable thing to do...
