MY awsome news story of the day!!!!!!!

THIS JUST IN:

Mr and Mrs SageTree get to live in Canada for 3 more years!!!!!

That's right folks. After my Wife's graduate studies permit came to an end, we'd applied for an extension of stay, which meant applying for a post graduate work permit, now that she's working and not schooling anymore.

We applied in June expecting to hear back in August... well....
It dragged on and on and the day we were support to find out moved into late September early October.

Our permits ended on Sept 30 of this year, which meant no crossing the boarder or looking for new jobs elsewhere until then.

1 year extension would meant my Wife would have to keep the job she has, but doesn't like, and isn't counseling.

2 years would have been fine.

But we got a full 3 years to work towards what it takes to qualify for permanent resident status and then eventually applying for citizenship.

3 years also means that there is some flexibility in my Wife not having to work full time, in finding work she wants and for us to be able to move to a place where we want to live, rather than feeling stuck here without a choice.

No more stress about moving back to the States now.

And this convinces me that our Permanent Resident attempts will go quite well.

So, just wanted to share the AWESOME NEWS OF THE DAY with you all!!!

WOoP WoOP!!!!

Life here has been a great fit and good place for us to be, and I am so glad we get to stay.

Posting from Canada for years to come,
SageTree

Apply for political asylum. Tell them you don't want to go back to a police state with ever increasingly Draconian laws.

Werd to that.

I thought about trying to invent a disorder where I say I feel crazy because I was born in the wrong country!

We thoughts about this back in 06 when we came up.

Bushy had just received term to and some one said, if you don't like it, why don't you leave.

In fact, we'd just been to Alaska in 04 and did LIKE that a whole lot.

So getting to the Northwest and trying out something new was why we came.

I wouldn't say it was political very much though. Maybe like 5-10%

Plus there hasn't been need, I'm sure it'll all work out.

Also, I've heard of folks having to go home when the climate changes in their countries and well.... I don't know if they'll believe me about America when there are folks coming in with bigger problems that I got.

Thanks for the concern/advise.

You must now dress up as a mountie and poor maple syrup all over your daily intake of poutine.
