that is an interesting thought geeno. im sure it has or is going to affect the physical market. the paper silver market and the physical silver market are different, though. due to crazy levels of fraudulent corruption and naked shorting of the comex (& others?ithink?) make me think that the huge addition to the physical supply wont necessarily affect the paper, market price.

in the early part of the year it was shifting up and down in jumps, many times because of hedge funds jumping in and out, so it will be interesting to see if a boatload of fucking silver makes any difference.

I don't think it has much to do with the found treasure, not only because the amount found is a drop in the ocean compared to circulated physical silver, but also as profit said, the electronic and physical silver markets are a bit different.

Sure it sets the value of an ounce of physical silver but it's rate is determined by other factors, one of which can be an automated software in one of the Goldman Sachs or BOA electronic trading server hubs, that jumps in and shorts astronomical amounts once a pre-determined price has been reached. This usually has the effect of mass selling which in turn creates an avalanche, until again a pre-determined level has been reached, where same software goes long and buys into the market.

Selected people who know the levels make millions in minutes, in both directions.

Well for every seller there must be a buyer, sure both can win or lose in the game, but those who have the power to move the market cannot lose. They will go short and profit from the decline in value until they think it's time for a reversal, then go long and profit from the rise.
