My work permit.... FOR CANADA.... Which I need to work as an IMMIGRANT in CANADA as an UNITED STATES CITIZEN ..... wasn't extended.... I got this extension two weeks ago which allowed me to stay here long enough to pack, find a job and more back to the country I am currently a citizen of.... THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!! ![]() So yea... don't worry dude... I'll be a citizen doing illegal things in the US doing US work as a US citizen, which I have been for the full term of my life, which has been 30 years so far.... US US US US US

I'm preeeeetty sure if you'd read that thread you'd have understood where I was a citizen. I champion Canada in my posts, since living here, no doubt... but I've always been open about my immigrant experience as a US citizen, partially to dispel the so called 'humor' you were attempting to interject, however... it's an unfair stereotype, I feel. (not looking for debate here). No hard feelings on my behalf, I just wanted to be seriously clear what was going on. No Love lost here either.

!!!Looks like plan B.... we aren't sure if we have the job or not... but a new plan is afoot and being implemented. Basically... I know some places where I can work in early spring in PA and my Wife has been put on to contract/occasional work. We'll have a sum of money to travel for a while, so we are just getting a van and are going to drive around the US and visit friends, family and maybe some of you punks, if you're down. The come spring we'll get to settling down somewhere. There are lots of work as we go options, so I'm not worried, and I think what we'll leave with will be more than enough to accomplish what we're setting out to do. ROAD TRIP! I'll start another thread on this later and talk more about this, and I want to make it know that for a while I'm going to be seriously out for a while and not be around here more than occasionally. How long.. idk? More as it happpens....

stay in canada oh canada.......
go see a law-yer a law-yer go to the middle of no where and grow weed for a year go plant trees in canada oh canada claim welfare in canada oh canada make your wife work hard in canada oh canada have a baby in canada oh canada. I am willing to bet that they have a 'hard luck' department in the social security in canada. there is someone their who will make sure you get social security benifits while your there on a visitors visa. Moses led the chosen people to Canaan because when they asked him where to go every morning he would begin to stutter in reply "Ccccccccccccc- Ccccccccccc" they assumed he meant canaan (being the only country in the middle east to begin with a 'c'. he was infact try to say Canada not Canaan. Ccccccccccccccanada. |

^I have to say I appreciate the support man, but I want to stay here long term and if that means leaving on the short term, then so be it. Staying and using up their money isn't going to make them happy either. And frankly... it won't be living my life. Moses waited 40 years, I figure in a year I'll be able to come back and stay here, saying that without a shadow of doubt. While I'm wondering the deserts (of the southwest hopefully) I'll make sure I bring my road map so I can find my way back to Canaanda... and get the fuck out of Babylon. (pardon the mixed stories )Again... thanks man.

just a small reminder, America is in the shit big time. Any work available pays bad.
Crime is on the rise and war is about to break out. the dollar is going to lose another 25% of it's value this coming year. if your up for adventure i think they have some pretty remote places in canada where you get citizenship quicker. like up by the north pole with the eskimos and shit. you can make tons of cash despoiling the enviroment with one of the oil firms. Just get a bad feeling about your timing on this whole hippy trail trip. |

![]() I realize things are shit there, but long story short... it's 6-7 months we'll be there. We are entering the country with more money than my Wife and I made combined last year, to live off of for a while. In the spring, as plant man, I'm highly employable. And my Wife... she is being hired on as occasional at her job, which means she'll has a few contracts to complete for them during out time out of the country, which will be a flow of GOOD income from Canada. You are in fact correct about Northern locations being favourable in terms of permit/PR/Citizenship granting, but the point is... there is SOOO much red tape to make that happen it's not worth it and I don't want to go to the great lengths to explain what that process is... You just have to trust me... clawing my way into the country isn't the way it's going to go down. Last night I applied for college in the Maritime region of Canada and feel I stand a good chance of getting in since my program doesn't start until Sept 2012... that is... I'm WAY early. THAT is a permit I'm interested in paying for. Frantically searching for ways to stay here isn't the best bet... and it does NOT pay off in the end when we apply for PR status to stay here. As it stands now, we don't look like great applicants, as my Wife doesn't have all the professional time due to apply, and I don't have work right now... nor could I obtain work in a favourable field quickly.... without going to school.... WHICH... is what I'm doing in a way... but I can't just sign up and get in tomorrow... So, next Sept, once I'm in a school, getting a professional designation that looks nice to Canada and good for the world, make sure we're taking some French lessons and my Wife works a little more, she'll apply, which means we both get evaluated, and it'll look a lot better for us this time. We'll get an MP involved so maybe we can have a helping hand and explain what happened, what we did, and why we hope it'll work out this time. I've heard that they can do wonders.... I didn't know that this time, and it's past the time for checking on that. I don't want to be stuck here in this city any longer. Just cause it's Canada doesn't make this place instantly better than some other parts of the States ![]() My Wife and I both has good career opportunities in the States and for my Wife to work at a distance as well. I am NOT worried about what will happen in the States at all. We're going to see family and friends and will be housed and fed by them while we visit and there is always more people to go and see. It's my life... I could be dead tomorrow.... and insha'allah I'm not... I don't see a major 'loss' by traveling for a couple of months in the States and them working for a few. MORE THAN ANYTHING: I appreciate your concern and the thought you are obviously putting into this... But just trust me... I've been doing a little thinking about what might or might not happen myself. If I fear what might or might not happen, and don't act.... nothing will ever happen and this life will be squandered on Fear instead of Love and Hope. The Tribe made it out of the desert and found their way back from Babylon.... So I'm going to go have a blast in the southwest deserts of Babylon to the south, I'll learn a few things, and I'll come back to Canaanda no worse for the wear... and maybe better. Have Faith Uncle. ![]() I'll even send you a post card if you want ![]() So you know I'm fairing okay. But thanks man... your care and concern is obvious ![]() Just keep me in your thoughts and hope for good things... you never know which positive vibration might tip the scale.

Well... Looks like they will let her start in January, which means we still get a month on the road.
Jan-May/June in Maine and then off to College for the SageTrees back in Canada. Can't wait to learn how to X-country ski.

So folks, here is how the plan is going down.
I'm moving to the States in November, in about a week. My Wife is coming down in 2-3 weeks after that. I'm buying a vehicle we can travel/sleep in. When she arrives, we'll set out for California, stopping to visit folks along the way. From December until we are set with net again in January, I'll mostly be 'away' from here.... In January, we'll move to Maine where My Wife is taking a 6 month position at a Comm. College. I'll also be working there somewhere. And in June, hopefully I'll have been accepted to a Mental Health/Social Work certificate program in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick, so we can get back to living in Canada ASAP. 1 year later, My Wife will have the time to apply for Permanent Resident. And depending on the school/program I get into maybe I'll already be a graduate,so I'll also have a 'category' that makes me lucrative as well, so this will strengthen my Wife's application, since we apply as a couple, that is, spouses are assessed as well. Or I'll still be in a program, which still ought to look good for us. June 2012 is still our 'entry' goal. 2013 PR And then once ready, onto Citizenship applications. Before we take anymore big steps, like the Permanent Resident stuff we ARE going to consult an Member of Parliament/MP to review our case, talk about what happened last time, and maybe get a little personal interview/approval/letter of recommendation or something from them for some extra footing, as I don't wish or see the need in Immigration Attorneys. Hitting the road for madcap fun in December, living in Maine for the winter (looking forward to REAL winter) and then back up to a Maritime Province for school/living/loving/life on the side of the border we want our keister on. CHEERS! ![]() SageTree

Blimey, what a palaver, all the bits of paper.
Happy travels. I'm sure you'll get there in the end.
