Somebody snitched that they suspect my dog is over 30 lbs. As most of you know I found this dog and kept her, even though it didn't seem very practical at the time.

The landlord doesn't know about lucy or me living here, but now she has to sign something about it and I have to provide a vet document from the last 30 days with her age breed and weight on it.

I'm wondering if I could just get someone to photoshop a vet document I have to change the date/weight/age and maybe I could just forge the signature?

Even without the forgery part, I could just send her the documents and if my residency comes in to question just say that I just moved down from NY and I am staying with my sister until I am able to move in to a new place in a couple months (which is partially true).

I guess when my sister signed the lease she never mentioned having me living here too and lucy wasnt in the mix at that point anyways.

Thanks HTAM but I have documents already that I'd simply like to scan alter and reprint, since they already include signatures of vets and all that.

I have a vet appointment friday anyways, and the people at the vet place love my dog and the fact that I took her in off the street so it getting them to bluff shouldn't be difficult.

Plus we have no idea what type of dog or how old she really is anyways.

are the forms on any kind of special paper? If not I would say a quick photoshop edit and you should be fine. But I would be careful, I don't know if you can get in trouble for doing such a thing or not.

You aren't forging documents to defraud anyone, just to break a rule. If they find out, then permission to keep the dog there would be rescinded. The only trouble would be civil, and if they wanted to take you to court, that's a long drawn out process you can avoid at any time by moving out (because that's all they can sue you for). So, no worries there, mate.

I would throw money at the problem. Get a meeting with the landlord and start peeling off 100 dollar bills, calling it a "deposit", until your landlord is interested, and if need be draw up a seperate contract promising to rectify any damage that your fat dog might cause.
