This is my last time drunk (or?)

So I am striving towards consistent sobriety -- save for the depression meds i'm currently on -- and because i'm drunk right now, i am not taking myself too seriously; though, i have been planning to do this for quite some time now. it's affecting my career and my love life - i need to smarten the fucking hell up.

wish me luck dear friends of yahooka. this debilitating habit is doing me no good and i sincerely wish to rid my life of it. an easy road i will not be traveling; as i say while i type this post.

god speed to you and yours

shai.

aka: darren

(i never sign my name but i'm genuine here and felt the need. wait for me to reply to this post in a drunken guilt stricken shameful post of failure)

Hey
You don't need luck. This isn't about luck. You can be in control of it, just stay focused.
You can always shoot me a PM.
Love you lots. I mean it.

Well good luck. One thing I've learned from countless court ordered classes and AA meetings is that it is nearly impossible to quit on your own. It takes dilligent communication and support groupes and a stringent routine of alternate activities and tools.

You're facing a big decision here. And as a drinker, I can completely understand. That's what got me to quit drinker hard liquor. I just made a decision one day that it's leading me straight to hell. Not hell in a religious sense, but a living hell.

That and it was starting to affect my health drastically. Man it wasn't easy I was drinking a fifth of Old Crow bout every day (on top of plenty of beer).

Now granted I still drink beer but I've been able to control myself pretty well. My goal is not to quit drinking though, just to be in control of it instead of it in control of me. And for a little over a year now I've drank whiskey maybe 6-7 times. And it's only been special occasions.

Know your goal and reach it.

Drinking has taken control of me; that is how I know I have to stop.

I've quit a bunch of times, so hopefully, I'm getting better at it. Haven't drank in about a month, now. Feel tempted, but, I see the difference in my life between this last month and the months before, then I don't feel so tempted.

Good luck, brother.

I'm out too man. The past two nights I've gotten fall beer 6 packs, drank them all and passed out like a stooge. I can't drink cheap beer, it makes me sick. And I spend too much money on good beer.

It's funny I can go all day drinking just one or two glasses of water, but when I get home I have to drink ALL of the beer. As soon as one is down another is open. That's typically how I roll with all vices and why I've systematically dropped them all from my life. Now it's the socially acceptable and legal one, the worst of all.

I did the same thing man. Good luck to you as well.

Thanks everyone!

I wish you the best of luck man. No, not even luck, I'm just going to affirm in myself the belief that you can do what you say you're going to do. Don't let yourself down man.

So odd, I was listening to this today:

Amazon.com: Catch Bull at Four: Cat Stevens: Music

And I had no idea where the title came from! Thanks!

To the OP: How much do you usually drink a day/week?

How is it affecting your life/career/job? Just wondering.
