Always did better in x-country than in the sprints.
The most successful 'short' race I was part of was the 800.

Neither, I'm more of a "long walks with my head in the clouds, taking plenty of time to stop and gather pockets full of acorns or take pictures of pretty flowers" type of girl.

I was asking to see if you thought it was representative of how you experience the other experiences in life..
Although I'm good at both.. short distance is my forte. M |

Was a big sprinter growing up, but in my latter years I've become more long-distance.
Still got that spring in my step though!

I used to be a pretty good long distance runner, I used to run 35-50 miles a week. Now with my fucked up back I can't run at all, I want to run sooo bad. I know if I could run I wouldn't want to run this bad lol

Sprinting or long distance I can do, for some reason I'm rubbish at medium distances.

Funny, my experience with running usually involves women too. Sprinting anyway.

One time I was challenged to a 100 meter race by a much shorter guy. I knew he would be fit, but I laughed at his challenge because I thought I would dominate a guy almost a foot shorter than me. I was in peak physical fitness at the time, like really good.
So we go outside to do this one night, and start the race and he pulls way out ahead of me! I was alarmed frankly, but it must just be the mechanics of our bodies, because it took about 20-30 meters, but before long I was not only pulling ahead but way ahead. So, obvious lesson learned, small guys can be quicker to get going, but taller stronger guy is going to have higher speed potential once geared up. |

lol just like two hours ago i ran for the first time in quite a while.
I got out of my car with 2 mins to spare before a quiz, and had to run about 100 meters or so up a hill and up stairs. that combined with quitting smoking this week... man, i almost died. Edit: Ive always been one to take my sweet ass time walking to where i need to be. pickin up acorns like AL lol. Just the other day while casually walking to class, i bent down to pick something up and wound up face to face with a large groundhog no more than 3 feet away from me. We had an EPIC staring contest until some fast walking douches scared him away by walking by.
