I think they're trying to keep up with facebook!
I don't get the need to change the forum layout at all tbh, I only see the whole forum layout when I can be arsed going to Forum Jump/Forum, otherwise you just land on a mishmash homepage that show recently updated posts only. Madness I tells ya! |

Was it intentional and I just missed the memo (surprise!)? I thought it was just some goof ass mistake like when sage broke the whole internetz.

Can you not read English?
The forum layout, it has changed, I gave my opinion, anything else? Edit - I haven't been here for a while, last time I came here often it was just a normal forum layout, so still getting used to the way it is now. Today they seem to have rearranged shit, when you look at the forum in its old style layout. Last edited by B.; 10-16-2011 at 09:27 PM. |

This is new... and not a done deal yet.
I believe there are still some description and layout changes that will happen.... BUT- Long story short... 'The Chronic Colloquial' is more or less the 'FFA-esq' section of the boards now... FFA has been merged with General Discussion and Mellow Stoners, so now it's more of a "Catch all/Random" discussion area, as to where the other Colloquial forums are for a more specific/topic related BUT, not devoid of LoLz, areas to talk. It's bringing the discussions/members together, since we are a small board. And is creating more freedom in the Colloquial's specific topic/interest forums. Other things have been moved around/ made more prominent. For instance, New members (which we are seeing more and more of) can see intro, regional unity and feed back quicky. People who come here for Growing and Non-Growing Cannabis topics will see that easier. And the talking, interest, non-cannabis related topics are at the bottom where they have always been, but are now simply grouped under 'Colloquial' now, so there can be more freedom in these threads. TLDR? : This means more freedom, not less. Moderation increasing is not a likely outcome of the 'FFA-Spirit' being opened up into the Colloquial or the Non-Cannabis related interest forums. Growing and G&S will still be moderated the same. The Cannabinol Connoisseur sections will still be moderated the same.. Except for 'Seasoned Tokers' which will remain what it is... A General talk area for 5+ year members. One thing I'd like to see if the 'Growing' and the 'G&S', which have more confidential info in them, be listed as a main heading w/ subs under them in smaller font, like GTGH used to be, instead of appearing as their own forum. That way they stay more 'closed' even though the are public areas. Please use Feedback if you have any SPECIFIC concerns, other wise, I hope this adds some info to the talk here.

what are nods?
and merging a lot of the board in FFA is pretty much what we've always wanted. A giant FFA board. Good job nod team.

FFA, the forum, is essentially a lightly moderated Random/General area these days. To some extent The Chronic Colloquials/ has been brought into and merged with the FFA-Spirit, but still has some guidelines, just like FFA in fact still does. Although honestly... there isn't much that requires moderation in those 'other' forums EITHER, which is why I don't see the harm in bringing the worlds together for everyone benefit. Generally speaking, FFA isn't the FFA it used to be from back in the day... And I personally thought the divisiveness was uncalled for. In our discussions, the Mods involved seemed to agree with that. The history is that General discussion was created as an alternative to FFA. And FFA was basically the only place the former mods would let you folks post without banning you ![]() Although it's fair to say it was a little more cat and mouse back then and folks TRIED to push the mods. Today, that isn't how we roll anymore. SURE... this is stuff that still gets moderated in FFA when it's needed, just like other parts of the board. I don't foresee anything tragic happening because of this moving around.... Basically FFA is Freed from it's constraints as the only 'safe' are for LuLz... But in actuality... Yahooka has had more FFA-LuLZ per sq. inch all over the boards for some time... This just makes that vibe more pronounced. I hope this makes sense to more folks.

Click this link and see what happens.
If if says you can't there is something wrong. It might be your birthday information, idk... a mod recently said they hadn't seen it because their birth date was 'underage' or something odd like that. If there is an issue, start a thread in Feedback forum and we'll work it out. You ought to be able to see it.

Why not get rid of FFA forum and just let the FFAness become pervasive in all the rest of the forums? ![]() And in a quasi way... we did that with all the Colloquial forums, but just kept the FFA as a catch all for what can't or doesn't fit into a category. FFA isn't solely what we're about, lest we forget why/how we're here.... doesn't really live out the mission.... I realize we are vast... but plenty of people come here for growing/test/use questions, as a guest, if not a member. If you have a proposal for what ought to happen here I implore you to check out the Feedback forum and start a thread there.
