Although I agree with Ron Paul on some issues, like auditing the federal reserve, I don't agree with him on other issues, like, global warming, abortion, health care and illegal immigration.
I'm still looking for someone better.

Every other option is a flip flopping puppet.

Thanks for the video, I would vote for him if I could.
He is the only candidate who has new suggestions regarding core/foundational economic and political issues which have crippled (and are killing) the States. Tertiary issues like abortion and immigration won't matter if there is no infrastructure (ie, country) in which to base them on.

I really like Ron Paul. He is really the only guy I actually "want" to vote for. It's very frustrating that the GOP doesn't give him a fair shot! He really is the one guy who could really win the presidency from Obama. I guess Obama is OK but I'm not too impressed by what he's done in office. Ron Paul is the only republican candidate that could actually cross over and grab up some of those democratic voters and of course that is essential with the country divided the way it is these days. Obviously whoever wins the GOP is going to get all of the republican votes, duhhhh, but Paul is the one guy who can get those independents and even some democrats and that would lock up his victory. No other GOP candidate is going to have much luck with the other side.
Go Ron Paul, if you republicans were smart you would see that RP is your best bet for getting into the whitehouse. plus I just plain like alot of his ideas. |

You can say what you want, but Ron Paul says a lot of stuff about a lot of things, and he's certainly made people feel a thing or two.
Wether or not you vote for him, he'll be here, looking into things and making conclusions. Ron Paul! |

If Ron Paul was to win the presidency (which they wont let happen), there would be some big changes. I mean big changes, like, prepare yourself for the US to become a completely different entity all together, either that or RP would get nothing done due to congress/courts bogging everything down.
He's right, the US is an empire and he wants to dismantle it. Not only the US, but the whole world order would change, the US relationship with other countries (for example in the UN/WTO etc) would be dramatically altered. USA relationship with the bretton woods system would dramatically alter and the US dollar might very well not be used as the worlds reserve currency anymore. Im not saying it would be a bad thing, but I dont think his policies (assuming implemented) are entirely realistic for the position the US is currently in.... it would need to be implemented very gradually or there would be dangerous shock waves at home and abroad. I think he could clean up a lot of problems in the US and even get them out of the red, but the change would be dramatic/possible dangerous is all. I'd like to add though that i think the integrity and ideological purity of RP is an excellent addition to the political scene down there. His purity of position is fantastic for highlighting the hypocrisy and twisted spin or business as usual in US federal politics. I mean, US federal politics is really, really, really far from what it appears to be in the media. But you all know that. If he won the grand old nomination I would be kinda giddy.

One of the things about Ron Paul is that he wants to do away with several governmental departments, but not Homeland Security. Honestly, I don't know if getting rid of the Dept. of Education (for example) is actually a good thing or not.
He also wants to cut the defense budget (a good thing), but wants to secure all 20,000 miles of the US border. Now where's that money gonna come from? He also wants to cut taxes so the business owners can create jobs. That's the old "trickle down" theory that has already been proven several times to just not work. He also wants to stop the birthright of people that are born in the US from being US citizens. Put yourself in those shoes for a second. You are born here, lived here all your life, speak only English, and all of a sudden you're on a boat to Peru, cause your Mom was an illegal. You could end up spending your entire life in prison, because there would be no place to deport you to. You are a citizen of no country. I don't think some of his ideas are well thought out. The securing the borders idea is just ridiculous. Being born here but not a citizen? I don't think the people will stand for that one either.

i think there is something to be said for that.
as batshit crazy as ron paul sounds some times he honestly is one of the least flip floppy people ive ever seen- he says the same things. has been saying the same things, for 30 years!... even if he never becomes president he should definately get a prize or something for being so consistently principled and outspoken for what his principles dictate , come what may. i mean, the other side of the coin is a radical wahhabist islamist might also be "principled" as well... but its kinda cool sometimes to see someone saying fuck it i believe in libertarianism and come what may thats what i believe in. |

We all thought the same about Obama, who hasn't changed shit. My guess is that alot of republicans are going to lose their seats in the house and senate in the next round. Then it would be the democrats turn to block everything Ron Paul would like to promise. It's a circus. Just pass the popcorn and enjoy the show.

a lack of hypocrisy is superior to any particular ideology

normally dont watch much tv, and def not a particular show i like to flip between news channels when one pisses me off too much... but tonight ron paul was on bret baier tonight and then he was online on a private version of it for like a half hour... they were saying it was a record online audience, i thought it was awesome.
and charles krauthammer asked him what he would do about drug legalization... and then they were laughing and talking all sorts of stuff u wouldnt hear just on cable... and krauthammer said "so do u support being able to buy crack, meth marijuana, speed etc?" and then they both kind of agreed that pot wasnt even as bad as alcohol so then when paul asked charles "well charles would u buy those things just because they were for sale" and krauthammer goes "well it depends on which one" LOL krauthammer is a closet pot head!!! |
