I'm happy to announce that my ROCK STAR fantasy is officially dead
It's actually been dead for a few years now.
The whole fantasy of one day being a rock star occupied a lot of my time from ages 16-22, thereaboutes. It's probably the most retarded notion I ever held fast to, that I could one day somehow be a famous musician with adoring fans. As if I would be "discovered" despite of the fact that I have never had any music talent whatsoever and made zero effort. "Dream on" is right, Stephen Tyler. ![]() No but seriously, I know it's totally normal for guys to imagine themselves as rock/rap stars. Listening to music and pretending that you created it can be a lot of fun. Now I've stopped kidding myself. I enjoy music now as entertainment and not as a fantasy of fame.

It's Ok Merc. I got over my dreams of being a rock goddess a long time ago. Me and some of my girlfriends even had basically an 'air band' and Stonie Jo was gonna be my stage name. Our chic band was gonna be "Bad Influence". We rocked!!!

My friends and I always kicked around the idea of forming a band but none of us really had the talent or the drive. It's crazy how feasible a music career can seem to a younger mind, as if it was just a matter of time before *something* happened and just like that you would be on tour.
iI also used to just play around a lot too. Air guitars, dancing around my room, singing along with the music, pretending I'm on stage... I just don't enjoy any of it anymore. Shattered dreams.

No - not shattered dreams, it's called growing up. A big difference!

I always wanted to be a producer...
All the money and fame and seemingly none of the bullshit. I'd rather create 'rock stars' than be one.

playing on stage is awesome especially when you write songs.. but with a band comes drama and that can be frustrating. i prefer jamming and writing the songs to being in the band. there are some people i would happily perform with all the time but unfortunately nobody of that type ever has enough time to be serious about it (myself included).
