What would you do if you had no internet, TV/DVD or smart phone?

Let's say for some reason you just can't afford TV or internet or cell phone service and you wont for at least 6 months. What would you do every day with your free time?

^I know... I can just imagine myself pacing restlessly thinking of something to get into. I'd probably leave the house a lot more just to see what is going on out there. I'd probably have more interesting days.

I could dig that, but I basically suck at chess. I have no talent for it whatsoever. I just really like the game, and what blundering and losing is doing for my character.

Not around here, but I bet you could get up a game in NYC or someplace like that. They used to have quite a few games going in Harvard Square, when I lived in Boston, but that was 20+ years ago, so who knows now.
