I think I need a workspace/home office

I recently visited Office Max, kind of on a whim, and I fell in love with everything there. I have a good little corner where I think a desk would go very nicely, with a little lamp and file holders and pens and stuff. That would be grand.

Right now I just perch my laptop on the arm of a chair or on the coffee table and it just doesn't sit right.

Also, I think I could actually be more productive that way. Actually, I know I could be more productive if I had a little office space. I could write papers, keep my mail organized, keep my files organized, keep a calendar, etc.

Right now all of my business is scattered about in my bedroom, living room, kitchen. That ain't right. A place for everything and everything in it's place, right?

Do you guys have a proper desk?

My desk is too small and low. I need a laptop file stands or something. Everything gets cluttered up otherwise.

I gots a desk with two computers/monitors and a few 22 inch table/drawers that sit side by side which have my 13"x19" inkjet printer and my regular printer. the drawers house all of my software, paper supplies and docs. On the under shelf is my scanner. I also have another side table that keeps my staplers (small, medium and large) and pens/tape n random shit.

I can't see how one can function without a proper desk area, shit I wish I had more room for a better home office.

only thing I don't do is mail, I boycott that postal bullshit.

I dunno probably 2-6 hours a day depending on if I'm working or not. plus I use the computer to play all of my music collection so I'm always fuckin with that.

plus it just helps to have a place to have my stuff some what organized.

yup.

Depends on what you do with the workspace.
I have two currently.

I'm refinishing a fairly large round oak table in one workspace.

Computer is in the other...On a 2 x 5 folding table (bought @ Sam's Club) and on top of the table is a finished piece of 3/4 inch 7 ply cabinet plywood. Holds computer, printer, old CRT monitor, and keyboard in under monitor drawer, camera on top of monitor along with a small set of usb powered speakers. On the wall above the monitor is a 10 inch digital tv.

I have an old fashioned office desk. It's 6'x3', takes up a large chunk of my living room. The top is filled with my dinosaur monitor and a bunch of other computer/office type stuff. The TV is behind me, so I have a big mirror I set up, when I want to play on the computer and watch TV at the same time.
