Now as a realist, I often find myself arguing that Saudi Arabia is a pretty good ally for the US.

In this case, however, this is about the most fucked up thing I could ever imagine.

For a member of the Saudi royal family to offer a one million dollar reward for a terrorist to commit a terrorist act... and still get US aid and sign deals to buy f16s and shit...

I would sincerely hope that the Saudi leadership repudiates this "rogue" guy...

because offering huge payouts for terrorist acts is going to be a huge problem for America if they keep doing this... if after 9/11 the Saudis hadn't carefully repudiated terrorism and made moves to fight it, but rather offered 1 million dollars to the next terrorist to take down a building, I think its safe to say that rather than contemplating a Saudi-Nato alliance today, we would have overthrown their 14th century wahhabist monarchy in 2002.

... should be interesting to see how this plays out.

While on the surface that might sound like terrorism, it's supported by their religion so we aren't allowed to disagree with them. We will just have to let them kidnap an Israeli Soldier, there is no other way around it.
