As Americans, when you say "Hey, how's it going?" do you pronounce the H or do you say it like eh?

My greeting of choice is "heyo"

no joke.

"heyo"

"Hay-yo"

people tend to dig it. i get lots of good responses with the heyo.

We say eh but we say it more like ehhhhhhh... it's a distinct sound of indecision.

I say eh.

When I worked at call centres, I would occasionally mock americans by switching between saying about in the normal fashion and "aboot".

I used to work with a skip tracer who was fluent in at least a dozen languages, all with perfect tone and inflection but he would purposely stumble through contacts sometimes and gain an incredible amount of information he wouldn't have gotten if the folks new he understood every word. he would also send clients off to 'other agents' who could help them better.

One man office.
