fucking men and women of 'hooka
how many other forums on the internet are there like yahooka that's so small? we've practically grown up together.
do any of you guys actually know any other yahookans well? I mean really, how many yahookans phone numbers do yall have? Some days when I come to lurk I think how amazing this place is. Then other days I come and think how sad it is. Usually it's mostly the latter. I mean what if the OPA were to prevent future teenagers and children that we once were to join together on places like this? Is it possible that it could actually be a good thing? I don't know about anyone else but I'm fucking addicted to the internetz. While I do all my studying and spend a lot of my free time on the computer, I go out for walks or runs on weekend nights and I just look in peoples windows as I'm running by and see an innate amount of people on their computers with their screens glowing up their rooms. It's an unmistakable glow, nothing like any lamp or reading light. Just that soft, blueish-red glow from the computer screen lighting up their whole room. How much longer will we continue to get absorbed into our computers as a society before there no longer are people left who are computer illiterate and only read books and news papers? Even my 60 some years old parents are reading their news papers and books less and less and getting on the computer nightly. I remember as a child all they would do was read from the newspaper or books. Are we going to be the last generation that knows what the turn of the century was like? Of course we will have our kindles and tablets to do our reading, but at what point in the future will the word,"textbook," describe a regular recreational book rather than the academic books we think of when someone says "textbook?" Anyways, I'm glad I could share this moment in time in this corner of the universe with all yall. I don't know how much longer I'm going to be coming back to the ol' 'hooka, as the same can be sad for a lot of us. Before you know it we'll all be growing old and we'll be sitting in our nursing homes wondering if our 'hookan friends are still alive. |

I used to play pen-pal with several people, who also happened to be yahookans. Never gone as far as talking, i believe. Might have talked to nun+some other irc folk on a conference call at one point.
Ahh, the good ol' days. Neat thread idea, jose. I have a big place in my heart for this forum and the people here-I'll certainly be interested in seeing where everyone's life story takes them. And as far as scientific and intellectual pursuits, this is also the cusp of a very interesting time. A very trying time, but interesting nonetheless. Exciting to be alive. |

This would probably hold more weight, if it wasn't posted from what, like your fifth alt account now?

Come december I won't have the internet at home, so I won't be around as often. I'll still be on every day I work though.
I don't actually have anyone's number.. that's for a good reason though: I hate talking on the phone. I'm happy with this sort of interaction with the hooka folk, I mean I've been posting here for over 10 years so.... wow. A decade. That's so weird. I went through all of high school and moving out and travelling and having a child, changing and growing, and all the while posting on Yahooka. That's gotta count for something.

I've sent prezzies to a few Yahookans (of the handmade variety, not herbal), and I've had some phone conversations too. Most of the people I talked to don't come here anymore, but I'm pretty sure I nutted up and gave Jewish Pork my phone number once when someone said "let us call you then". If I remember correctly, it lead to a half hour phone conversation where giggles were had?...

I technically have two numbers, or did. But I don't have one of them anymore. One was waves and HTAM. I would love to meet Sage sometime though. I still wish we all had more money and time so we could have made that Montana cabin weekend a reality. No matter how awkward it could have been it would have at least been nice to meet most of you guys. |

I drunk dialed supermarket's girlfriend way back in the day when her number was posted on irc. Despite a bit of nagging, the old chap took it in stride.
