Holy fuck - coffee

So I have this small 6 cup coffee dispenser and I have discovered that if I use hot tap water to brew with, the coffee comes out roughly >9000x more flavorful.

I had previously read about flavor in coffee being released by heat, which is what makes coffee nerds and douches go for the french press.

you shouldnt drink or cook with hot water from the tap.

especially if you have an older hot water heater. That water sits quite a while sometimes, leeching various things from the old tank.

if it tastes much much better, then i recommend just heating cold tap in a tea pot or w/e on the stove first.

Yeah I used to use cold cause its the so-called freshest water, but like nun said - when you have modern plumbing you don't have to worry about a lot of whack shit. Like using both showers simultaneously or flushing while in the shower. That shit is out the window.

Do you all have the newer hot water heaters that heat the water up as it flows through too?

im still rockin an actual tank for the hot water heater, as well as a building containing old ass pipes.

You needed the EPA website to tell you lead plumbing is bad? My house was built closer to the 1880's but the heating system/plumbing is only a few years old - thus I can live the dream by shaving a few seconds off my kettle's boiling time by adding near boiling water out the faucet instantly.

Plus my kettle has an inbuilt Brita filter = immortality.

Tldr: Things from bygone eras aren't as safe as modern day things, and fender should join us in the glorious toasty warm future.

I've got a shitty Black and Decker coffee machine that does that trick, but if I could increase the quality of each cup, the quality of my life would increase WITH EACH CUP.
