Then you have the guys like willie nelson and bob dylan, had they not been blessed with fame/talent, they'd just be 2 more hippies lost in the crowd.

The reality is most successful and wealthy people don't smoke weed. Can you imagine preparing a balance sheet for Best Buy's annual report high on weed?

The drug of choice for the average rich and successful person is motivation. That and alcohol, maybe a little coke if you can handle your marbles...

I used to BUY weed from a prominent public figure in a wealthy district/county. He loved to blaze too, and you'd really have never known it.

Weed is definitely they type of thing that can transcend social boundaries.

I think that's a myth too, that all walks of life have pot smokers. The wealthy people who are self-made likely only did it a few times. Even the once a month smokers who are in challenging prominent careers are rare, probably.

Yeah, there are some people in technical professions who do it. None who would be daily. But how many NASA engineers and brain surgeons are doing it at all? If you took all the managers in companies around the US, it's probably less than 1% that smoke a few times a year.

Also I think the average age of users is below the average age of professionals. It's generally a thing for kids to use recreationally.

Statistician is a broad term, and that could mean paper pusher or someone in charge of a lot more.

Celebrities like actors and singers use the right side of their brain. Either it helps them or doesn't hurt them.

Either way, they can enjoy it, flaunt it, and carry on. A celeb life requires work, but it's about using an artistic talent, not concentrating on a technical task.

Just because you are professional or 'successful' (very subjective), doesnt mean you cant do your work stoned. And if you can't or dont like to, if your so successful you think youd be responsible enough to only smoke weed in your downtime, which doesnt exclude every day smoking.

everything here^ is a broad statement.

being high does not make a person lose the ability to think analytically, especially a person who is a trained professional in their occupation. you act as though the right brain is somehow inferior, or people who use their right brain are as such, which is simply not true. a truly intellegent person uses borth halves of their brain to solve problems.

and no they arent paper pushers, they are number crunching machines who get high and run complex analysis on large sets of data. they find statistics to be fun.

bottom line, stateofkane hates weed and cant accept the fact that other people can function to a greater extent than he, even while using marijuana.

First of all, what do you do for a living? Right, a mechanic for NASA can do his job just the same if he was not only a heavy smoker, but if he was doing his work high?



I am. But I can observe the hypocrisy of people who aren't performing extremely concentrated tasks for a living, saying anyone can while stoned.

Whether they can do their jobs the same if they smoked, or if they smoke undercover, it's likely a rareity. Weed has never been a drug associated with the professional elite aside from the entertainment industry.

There's almost always some bit of truth in every myth...and vice versa.

Perhaps it really is as true as it seems, that those who posess less empathy are generally those who are the more "successful".

And mafoo, I didn't say the right brain was inferior or that work is inferior. A singer doesn't show up in an office to do a 12 hour mind numbing shift with other chodes. They work at their own pace and think on their own terms. Weed does bring out the right brain imagination more.

The fuck it doesn't affect analytical thinking. I can do already mastered tasks stoned too. I'm talking about the entrepreneurship to move ahead int he business world and kick some ass.

I've had depression that has debilitated me. Everything is better when I'm sober.

Let's not get the imperssion that abstaining from marijuana will automatically make you a successful person. Nor let us deny that most (successful) people have used marijuana at some point.

To be a "stoner" is a lifestyle and after a certain point that lifestyle can eclipse other lifestyle choices.

For example: You can be an athlete who smokes weed, but if you smoke too much and too often then you will become a defacto stoner who plays sports. See the trade off?
