Tell me the craziest thing you have seen in your hometown.
Lets see who comes from the most fucked up place. Anecdotally speaking.

My town is so religious, we have a Target that they converted into a church that is full every sunday.
Since my town is so religious, this is the most fucked up thing I have seen in my hometown.

They used to impound cars here on the poor side of town on street sweeping days and charge money for a police release and impound fees until a crazy dude ran around in front of the tow trucks with a bull horn screaming 'The Tow Trucks Are Coming, The Tow Trucks Are Coming' from the front seat of his ancient Lincoln convertible while neighborhood kids would run and ring doorbells to warn folks. Now they just hit you with a $35 ticket instead, payable to a corporation our city council are shareholders of.
Right now our city council is deciding on whether or not to let an oil company drill in the middle of one of our open space preserves so they can collect revenue from the oil company even though the majority of residents don't want them drilling because of the noise and associated pollution but it's okay since most of our city council lives in a much nicer section of the area (in another county) so they'll never have to worry about seeing it...

A transvestite shot and killed two cops when they tried to search the house. Pretty sure the perp was dressed as a stripper when it happened.

Waves, wtf are you out in wheaton?
Despite being a religious hovel, the town woods are known to be a huge underground satanic gathering area.

first thing that comes to mind is a disease sharing ring. i.e. pox parties-or people selling diseased lollipops, q-tips, hankies, etc from their own sick kids to other 'natural immunity' thinking parents.
i'd rather have the vaccine and avoid shingles later in life, personally. dermatological problems can be some of the worst. http://www.tennessean.com/article/20...kenpox-illegal |

Craziest story I remember is an incident where a man stole a police car and crashed it through the front door of the courthouse. Come to think about it, there seems to be someone driving a car through a building about every week around here. That's kind of our thing.

if youve ever been exposed to chicken pox you can get shingles, they are the same strain of herpes but shingles lay dormant in the nerves and are painful as a mother fucker. i got them back in highschool. that was the 2nd time id ever gotten painkillers, the 1st time was when someone sprained my neck in 7th grade.
that said: - i saw a large brushfire burning about 200 yards from my driveway, fires are really common here, so it wasnt that interesting. - we recently had a group of cops beat a homeless man to death - we had a group of cops shoot a kid who was crazy on something, and leave his parents hand cuffed in the back of a cop car as he bled to death in the street in front of their house. only the first one did i actually see first hand

One of the Zodiac Killings occurred here in 1966, shortly before I was born.
On a related note, there was a mass murder on the day of my birth, as well (11/12/66). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_shooting#1960s On a note related to the related note, my wife is obsessed with serial killers, and I secretly suspect she is one, since one time she told me not to look in the trunk of her car, and it wasn't even christmas or anything. Oh, and also, people supported Prop 8 here bigtime. ![]() The Rev |

As far as things I've seen in my hometown with my own eyes, well actually I've seen a lot of crazy shit but one of the worst was a burnt cross hanging on a barbed wire fenceline out in the country, the work of either actual Klan members or just drunk racist rednecks but heartbreaking either way.

You have to be good to be remembered by name...You can't just half ass it or they will chump you into the "That guy, The dude who, or The Nickname Killer" lump of anonymity...
