'This person you knew died.' 'Wow, took long enough.'

That was basically my reaction when I found out a girl I went to high school with died the other day

I was just honestly surprised she hadn't died years before. Hadn't heard about her from like a year after graduation and just kind of assumed she had already kicked it, to be quite honest.

I didn't know her so well, but from what I knew about her and the crowd she ran with in school, she was trying to get there quick fast and in a hurry.

This is the first instance of someone from my class dying and I kind of feel like a dick for just thinking "meh" and shrugging it off

I never really gave much thought to how I would feel when my first classmate died, but I kind of thought it would have more of an impact than this

Am I fucked up for thinking this way? Or more accurately, not thinking the way I think I should.

Seriously, if I wanted to I could just throw the next gay guy I come across right up against a wall and give him an anal assault and he wouldn't complain one bit.

What you feel is what you feel. I think it gets fucked up when you try to deny it, or force yourself to feel something you don't. Too bad about your friend. For someone to be so self-destructive, she couldn't have been very happy. Hopefully, she goes forward to something better.

Yeah I feel bad for her family and friends, losing a loved one is shit

But I can't feel bad for her because she seemed to want it so badly

Coming from a dude who knows many who are dead... if a death makes you lol thats okay just don't broadcast it.

Someone tells you someone died 'dang, that sucks' is all you need to say to people.

But theres nothing worse than when one of your close friends die and everyone says "wow saw that one coming". its that kind of thing that makes me disconnect with a lot of people.

gno knows.
Doesn't matter how you feel about it, just be respectful with your public opinions. Someone cared deeply for her, you may not know who that is until you say the wrong thing. It's not a good feeling on either side.
