We play soccer and rugby over here. Soccer bores us to fucking tears and we play rugby without body armor. Maybe the New Zealanders can come over and play some American football without pads and let us know how that turns out.

I really dont know how football bores you to tears when in an average American football game of three hours the ball is only in play for eleven minutes. Ha'way man thats just shite

Yeah, but not so much the rugby really. I've never seen a rugby game in live action in my entire life. I see Mexicans kicking soccer balls in the parks and all that, I've even kicked a soccer ball around a time or two. But I've definitely never seen any recreational rugby whatsoever.

The only thing that happens is fucking hours of commercials and sponsorship promotions.

They get paid a lot to be strong/big/train, so the promo ads are necessary.
Anyone can play soccer, we all do when we're out of diapers. Our athletes are insane. They take steroids too. You wouldn't go through all that for moderate pay. |

American football is an extremely silly game, although marginally entertaning.
Rugby is a game for 'hard men', Australian rules is for psycotic hard men but you are all missing the point. Football / soccer is a game for nancy boy poofs. All those hairdo's, faking injury every fall, constant hugging and communal bathing, what more needs to be said. Cricket is the only gentlemens sport team sport not involving horses. Cricket is also one of the worlds most popular sports love through out India, Pakistan, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Australia, New Zealand and the West Indies. There is nothing more to be said on the subject. |

I mean I love soccer to bits, but i can completely understand how someone could find it boring on the telly. If you have never played and can not appreciate how huge the field is, they do look like they are moving quite slow.

Everything is much more interesting when you understand what is going on. Classical music, Baseball, Mathematics/physics.

Yea sucks how common that has become. Dramatic italians and then it spread. Played a bit of rugby during highschool a few schools in our district had a rugby club so got in a few matches. Really fun game. My college even has a rugby club as well. I though about continuing playing but risk of injury so high in these games. Call me nacy boy w/e. I will be hiking till the day I die *knocks on wood*. I know a lot of guys in mid 20's that have permanent injuries from playing football. Love how this thread turned into sports discussion.
