I'm probably going to be selected for an interview here in the next month or possibly even two months. They will be taking a hair sample at the interview.

Problem: I've only been clean for roughly 2 months. I honestly can't even remember when exactly so it could be a little longer or a little shorter than that.

So the hair testing is supposed to be able to test back up to 90 days.

I have been googling this question for the last month and can not find a damn thing on it, so I figured I'd ask you geniuses.

I need to know how long after you stop smoking does it take for your hair to start producing "clean" hair?

I've read so much I am having an information overload at this point. I've even read that THC is pretty damn inaccurate for hair testing so I think it's possible I might even be able to get away with it if it's just one month of "dirty" hair. I'll definitely have to be ordering my own hair lab test. I also know that after being hired they do a urine test, so maybe that's why in case they miss anything...

So I know I'm "cutting it close." My guess is that your hair starts growing clean after you can piss test clean. Does this sound right?

I'm worried hair stays dirtier longer than urine but I can't imagine that being physically possible given the metabolites would no longer be circulating your system.

So technically even though I haven't smoked in two months I only have one month of clean hair, does this sound right?

They take a 1.5" sample, which is estimated at 3 months worth of hair.

So if I get tested in the next month I know I'm screwed, but if it's in the next two months, I'm curious if I'll be able to pass. I'll definitely be ordering my own lab hair test if it is within the next 2 months though.

doesn't work that way, they require 1.5" or they take it from a different part of your body(or just fail you).

I am having a friend cut my hair to where I think it's clean though today. So like 1/2 inch or a little more.

It seems the higher up the food chain you go the less interested they are in how you spend your off time. I have yet to meet anyone making more than $60,000 a year who drug tests (transportation industry excluded as they might have a legit reason for testing.) for employment reasons until after the fact.

I think it's just another way to keep the poor miserable...

This is true. Refer to my "successful stoners" thread for further reference.

Hair tests are the wave of the future. They can't be fooled. They pull it off your head. They can tell what/how much a person has used in the last year for weed, 6 months for other drugs. Shit, I'd come up positive for a hair test but they would be able to know I haven't smoked in almost 4 months.

They will pull your pubes off if you shave OP, or your ass hairs. Only way is to stay sober for a year. Looks like you're fucked.

As a teenager, I made my way through outpatient rehab completely spun out on meth. Before that point, pot was my drug of choice and I didn't mess with anything else other than some drinks on the weekends. So employers and court systems, if you want to take teenagers off the natural stuff and show them that the only things they can fuck with are dangerous chemicals, drug testing is awesome. Otherwise, it's complete bullshit and a total invasion of privacy.

But Jose, I think it's a load of shit that they require you to have 1.5 inches of hair. Many guys keep their hair shorter than that. Just be like "Sorry guys, I have really curly, unruly jew hair so I wear it short. Eat a dick if you don't like it". Hired. Problem solved.
