brb going to jail
Probably not really but possibly.
About a year ago I was working in Georgia and got incredibly sick at the job site. I was puking so hard that I shit myself, couldn't stand up or keep my eyes open. Boss brought me back to the hotel, didn't buckle up. I was doubled over in pain. Get pulled over. Get out and vomit as cop is talking to me. Still get a ticket for no seatbelt. Try to pay it, 16 dollars. Systems backed up two weeks still backed up two weeks still backed up. lose ticket forget about it recieve letter yesterday dated the 4th telling me that I have 2 weeks to pay 115 or warrant for my arrest + suspended license. Call lawyer friend, can't practice in GA but tells me I should seek a council in that area. If I had pleaded guilty to the 16 dollar ticket (or the 116 dollar version) i would have gotten a point on my license and paid +25% insurance for 3 years. So I left a message with a lawyer I found on google in that area. His name is Saul. I feel good about this. |

You dont understand.
The payment would not make it in time. Plus I'd be admitting guilt to a moving violation which would cause me to have to pay 25% more on my car insurance for the next 3 years. So the payment won't make it in time and a bench warrant will be issued for my arrest and my license will be suspended. So I'm hiring a lawyer to drop the non-appearance in court and moving violation, which will get my license back while keeping me out of jail. |

Grow a beard. That will decrease the chances of being asked to pick up the soap in the clink.

Wait Saul, as in Saul Goodmen? Brah, your set, that dude kept Jesse and Walt not just out of so much trouble, but possibly kept them alive at times..

^That's what I'm saying.
Legal advice > Internet forum advice. I think I could pay 65 dollars before Jan 3 2012, but I don't want to admit guilt. I'd rather pay a lawyer 200 to have it reduced to a moving violation than to pay an extra 500+ over the next 3 years. |

I'm disapointed that you haven't posted in my geeno challenge thread. Also you can't hand deliver payment to a court? How much is your insurance that a 25 percent bump will cost more than a lawyer? lawyers eat diamonds that they cook in pots of boiling gold which they use burning thousand dollar bills to heat. I learned that from Nova. It's actually an evolutionary adaptation to prevent them from developing a conscience.

Wait a sec......
Let me get this straight.... You were a PASSENGER in a car and were wearing no seat belt. And now they want to suspend your license for something you did when you weren't driving? Only in America.
