Highlight of the story is my quick decision to bail and run. I'm talking full on sprint for a mile with a break to hide behind a tree from a cop at about 2AM.
Sucks cause I didn't drink that much but havent drank since like early november so it had a greater effect than I had expected. I knew the bearings were bad but just paid 320 for an online class to finish my degree, and was going to get fixed up next week. Would have been 80 bucks for 4 bearings and probably 60-120 in labor from my mechanic. Couldnt have the car towed to my regular mechanic because he lives on the same street as my boss. |

Yeah instantly I remembered a story from my lawyer about a client who's kid took his car god drunk and crashed it, but got off because he just bailed and hid out at a friends for the night.
Having a lawyer for a friend ftw. |

Since we're sharing holiday self-inflicted wounds...
>Work Party at Tilted Kilt [basically a scottish themed Hooters] >Got loaded on many, many Johnnie Walker by 8 >No cash, so i put everyone's order on my card and they hand me money >Co-worker offered to drive me home, kept trying to get out of his car while he was driving, eventually actually evacuating >Time/Memory Gap >Another Co-worker picks me up from a police station, detained not arrested, they rifled through my cell phone and called my Mom in LA and my sister in Texas before my coworker >Still so drunk i give coworker bad directions home and a wild goose chase for 45 mins >Evacuate out of his car, he tries to find me but couldn't >Finally coming to at 2 AM in an unfamiliar street with my jacket gone which had my apt keys, car keys, and all the cash from the party >Walked 40 min in the cold winter night with only my work clothes back home, [had spare apt keys] >As i was half a block from my apt, a taxi pulls up and asks if i need a ride.

Thats my problem with alcohol, once I'm drunk I really have no capacity to make rational decisions. Which is why I'm retiring from drinking once and for all.

You need to make the smart decisions before you start drinking. Taking your car to a party where everyone is going to be drinking heavily is pretty stupid.

You'd be surprised how quickly you regain faculties in this type of scenario.
I have no memory of driving away. Glad I didn't take the interstate. It was definitely a logical decision to run. I'm so fucking tired today. Squat day yesterday + drinking + running + adrenaline = fuck. Makes me sad too scatter. Never realized I was the dumbest person I know until today. |
