Californian Yahookans! Coming your way before long.... (The rest of you look too)
Hey Folks,
I know there are more than a few of you and just wanted to say that ,in late January/early-mid February (for the North) and late February (in the South), my Wife, cat and I will be rolling (and visiting) into your State, from the Oregon border, heading South. I have a date with Rev already and have contacts with him in the South. What we're in for is:
OR
The big note for indoors visits/stays is knowing we have a big, friendly cat who loves making new friends, but realize that some people have allergies. PM or Post here: TO The rest of you folks: At some point we'll be coming through and sight seeing-
Then up the Coast:
Although might come inland a bit.... Would maybe like to see the Smokey Mountains. It won't be for a LONG while yet.... March/April... but if you are flexible and can help out with one of the requested bulletins above. PM me or post here) Thanks Friends, hope to hear from you. http://www.religiousforums.com/image...es/namaste.gif The SageTree Family |
Are you going to be in the northern part of Cali? Or just more southern?
|
I was wondering the same thing, ASG.
:bigjoint: |
Welp... we are coming from Oregon and wanting to end up in the South....
(I added some clarity to the first post, so that it'll make more sense hopefully) So North is included by default, but not relegated to the 'oh well we have to drive through it', that is, We planned on stopping to see the Redwoods and camp, visit a friend in the Bay area, see the North a little too. Which means we'll pass by your way. I don't want to say we're trying to 'take advantage', but we're basically going where stays/friends/family/sights lead us... So even if you have a 'must see' place to recommend, that is helpful too in us figuring out where we'll go. Does that help answer the question... or was that typical 'shorten it up Sage' length answer, which muddles the actual answer ;) |
huh?

I guess I'd like to add that we're up for finding some grape picking/harvest jobs as well, not just work/stay exchange stuff.
My Wife is a counselor, and I'm a 'take a whack at about anything' guy, with a plant specialty. |
I'm sad. It went from "we'll be living in Maine" to "we're not going anywhere near New England in the foreseeable future."

Sorry Kitch.... You think YOU don't know what's going to happen.... Get asked to leave the country you want to live in and try to pass 6 months in the US without a permanent home ;) I apologize, I thought I was pretty clear about the 'IF' portion of the Maine journey, and in regard to passing through there 'anywhere in the near future', So I reiterate, At some pointwe ARE moving to NB/NS, if I get into school there, And will have to pass through that way if that occurs. I understand why you might be excited or expectant, and your kindness and generosity is noted. Thanks for that. Stay tuned and keep your eye on FB. It won't be until mid-spring I know about college, and it won't be until late spring/early summer until we come up that way.... IF..... that is the way things fall into place. |
You should really see New England.

Been to Boston 4 times. Been in Northern Maine. Took my honeymoon in Vermont for 10 days. And if you include upstate NY... Paddled through the Adirondacks and have camped there numerous times. Been in Figure Lakes region twice. Camped my way back from Rhode Island going through CT, MA, VT, NY... Western Mass was a beauty. I'd consider calling that part of the States home if I wanted to settle down in the States. :) Seen a bit of it I'd say.... not all.... not enough.... but a good bit I think. |
You're canadian,sage?
|
Not yet sir.
Had some immigration stuff that went sideways, much to our surprise. Pretty much a simple, 'now we know' kind of thing, And don't anticipate the problem again once I'm on my own permit and not just 'in' on my Wife's Study/Work permit. Been living up there since May '06, first in BC and then over in Ontario. |
cali is a beautiful state! have a good trip sage, i can personally vouch for him, he is a good solid man.

You must really like the woods just like you say. If I lived in Western Mass. I think I would start talking to trees and shit. I'm not exactly a social butterfly, but I need people and places to go other than hiking. |
cross everything off your list and go see the smokies

I spent about three moths in Ventura 18 years ago. Went up north on the PCH and that was amazing. Hairpin turns looking down 100ft cliffs meandering down to the ocean. Sheer beauty. I loved San Diego. I could live there in a heart beat and would have if things went differently. The weather is unreal.Nice crisp mornings and then reaching the low 70s all winter long. No humidity which I love.

I am moving to cali hopefully within the next 3-4 weeks. I will be living in ventura county or possibly antellope valley.
we will have to stay in touch. would be epic edit: my doors are always open for yahookans, so don't hesitate. my wife is allergic to cats but takes medicine for it. |
This is a really beautiful song for you guys.

Don't stay too long Sage, California is a dark, soul-sucking place which I hope to never ever return.
