A few months ago Anthony Bourdain (from the program "No Reservations") warned as about a sucker of Satan's cock named Paula Deen. In an interview he said:

“She revels in unholy connections with evil corporations and she’s proud of the fact that her food is fucking bad for you. If I were on at seven at night and loved by millions of people at every age, I would think twice before telling an already obese nation that it’s OK to eat food that is killing us. Plus, her food sucks.”

At the time it didn't resonate much. Fast forward to today:

Rumors that the 64-year-old Southern cook suffers from the disease [diabetes] have been persistent. The National Enquirer first reported the diagnosis in April 2010. Deen neither confirmed nor denied the reports – until now.

“I’m here today to let the world know that it is not a death sentence,” said the Food Network star, who is now being paid as a spokesperson for Novo Nordisk, the pharmaceutical company that supplies her diabetes medication. Coinciding with her announcement, Deen and her family are appearing in a new ad campaign for the company this month.

Dan I do have to agree.America isn't fat because we eat like Paula Deen. We are fat because we eat FAST FOOD. Eating whole foods, Milk, eggs, cream, butter, meats, vegetables, cheese, fruits etc... is way better then eating a supposedly low calorie McDonald's meal. I really like Paula Deen. I also really like Anthony Bourdain, but I think he gets carried away with shitting on everybody on the Food Network. His rant about Sandra Lee are amazing.

There are cells in your pancreas called the Islets of Langerhans, they are what produces insulin. In diabetes, the immune system either destroys or inhibits their ability to produce it.

There are actually studies going on using hookworms to mediate diabetes and there is success.


People can't run away from the hygiene hypothesis for much longer.

There are different "types" of Diabetes. The exact cause of type 1 diabetes is unknown. Most likely it is an autoimmune disorder. An infection or some other trigger causes the body to mistakenly attack the cells in the pancreas that make insulin. This kind of disorder can be passed down through families
