my beer is in the very bottom of this 40oz bottle of mickeys that im drinking

i find that if you just grab the 2nd mickeys in the row, at w/e liquor place, you dont get skunky ones. but i have definitely had a few skunked ones before.

thats actually why i switched to mickeys, the king cobras and oe are always skunky

Damn I read this whole article on it once and I can't freakin remember if they said that yes it does, or no not really.

I know for sure they said that green bottles do, but I can't remember if they were saying it's such a tiny difference it doesn't matter, or if it really does make a big difference.

I am PRETTY SURE though that being exposed to sunlight, the green bottle skunked way quicker than the brown, but if kept in the cold and dark there was almost no difference, and a gradient in between that depending on light levels and temperature.

I'm so helpful. .. ?

yeah sam adams says their brown bottles and high sides of the six pack prevent skunking. Stuff always tastes pretty good too.

Beer gets skunked when UV light reacts with isohumulones in hops. Green and clear beer bottles are of almost no help to keeping out the light, and brown ones are a bit better. That's also why Sam Adam's and a bunch of others have such tall 6pk carriers. Also one real good perk to canned beer.

Basically the answer is yes.

IPA stands for India Pale Ale. As the story goes, they boosted the gravity and added more hops so the beer would last the voyage all the way to India and back.

The lights in a beer cooler are what skunk most beers in green or clear glass, so it's easy to understand they always are skunked to some degree.

I'm not precise in my way... some beers I WANT a glass... some not.

Sometimes it's by a fire, sometimes it at a table with friends....
