Caterpillar outsources manufacturing to a 3rd world country

Step 1: Demand workers take an immense pay cut.
Step 2: Lock workers out, claim that the workers are greedy to expect anything remotely close to what they made before.
Step 4: Shut down the factory and move the operation to a 3rd world country where people are desperate for work and are willing to be taken advantage of.

All this in a year of record profits.

And they'll get a tax break on top of it!

A tri-factor fuck you USA! Thanks for starting your business here and becoming who you are because of America. Fuckers.

I really see NO correlation with this story. When did Apple close down their factories while screwing their employees?

This is pure trolling. That's another thread though.

Apple abuses Chinese labor laws to make their cheap ass shit for even cheaper.

Talk about exporting jobs..

Closes factories? Check. Outsources overseas to take advantage of slave like working conditions, whilst taking jobs away from a willing domestic workforce in the US? Check. If you can't see the correlation, you're a hypocritical retard.

Last I heard, Apple is a pretty good company to work for in the US, especially if you are an engineer on campus. They employ a hell of a lot more people in the US than all of the other computer makers around combined (MS is software). Dell, Acer, etc, who do they employ in the US? Not to mention all non-Apple's private spin-off products and software (tons of private developers for iOS alone make many people here in the US very comfortable.

Give me a break. Apple and oranges (hehe).

Their workers should burn down the place to show their "appreciation".

From your 8-year-old article you have linked:
Quote:
Although Apple has pared jobs on several occasions in recent years, the company has continued to grow its overall ranks. Much of the hiring has come as the company has expanded its network of Apple-owned retail stores.
Apple has grown tremendously since 8 years ago in every regard, jobs here domestically included well beyond what you think you see. I've already noted the intangibles for you.

My mechanic is a former Cat employee. He used to make like 60 an hour from them, then they went from 200 mechanics to 2.

It's like there was never thought of a middle ground.

I see a lot more Komatsu or whatever than Cat around c-sites these days anyways.

"Here is a list of companies we've confirmed are "Exporting America." These are U.S. companies either sending American jobs overseas, or choosing to employ cheap overseas labor, instead of American workers."

http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/lou....a/content.html

As you can see Caterpillar and Apple are both on the list. I don't see what you are arguing about.

Simple, we are arguing two very different companies with two different strategies. I have already shown Apple has grown US jobs. Do they outsource? Yes! Does just about everybody? Yes! GM outsources too but you would not compare them to Caterpillar either, would you?

Exactly, and blame the workers.

You know that this article is about Canada, right?

And that the plant is being outsourced to America?
