yahookan Appalachian Trail Relay
cuz sage shouldnt have all the fun:
we should organize a relay from the southern point on the AT all the way to the north. One of the floridians (killa? Dan?) could find an item and hike the first section, meet up with one of the other southerners (ellis? geeno?) and pass the item on, and so forth and we'd each only do 50 or so miles but as a group we could end up doing the whole AT and shaking the hand that shook the hand, etc. anyone interested> |

Considering how vast Canada is compared to America and to how many Americans would walk 50+ miles for a greater cause, says a lot.

Dude I'm not even sure what I'd be arguing....
the appalachians are on the other side of the country from me... like thousands of kilometers away... it's not a matter of not being willing to walk 50 miles, it's a matter of not being willing to buy a plane ticket there and back so I could walk the 50 miles. kitch is talking about people living more or less in proximity to the range to take part in this.... LOL and out you come waving the stars and stripes YO AMERICA IS AWESOME THESE CANADIANS CAN'T WALK 50 MILES!!! or something.

I mean i figure we're all so spread out and broke we can't do a real big meet up yet, but I feel like this is a cheap and easy way for a lot of us to participate in the same irl event, get some exercise, snap some good pics and share something kinda special! I'm willing to put my name in the hat as either the last or second to last leg (MA, NH, Maine) I think it'd be awesome to see the pics of each person starting off their leg by meeting up with the previous yahookan and then ending it meeting up with the next, it'd be a chance for a lot of us to vicariously get together, and seriously who has not at one point or another wanted to hike the AT?

I think it's a great idea, but yeah, like you said yourself, pretty close to broke lol. It'd cost a pretty penny to fly out there.

Even with that in consideration, somehow using deadhead's personal disinclination to participate in this proposed event as some way to bolster national pride by belittling another nation is fucking odd, and more than a little insecure.

I find it more insecure you find these insecurities about your nation.
I mean, we all know America is full of fallacies, and they're supposed to be the best!

I generally consider myself an individual, not a nation, and my neighbor the person living next to me, not the message board guy living a couple thousand KM away.
At this point I have to assume you're trolling. IF you're being serious, I recommend you take some RnR or something because IF you're being serious I think you're in danger of completely losing the plot. Quote:

yeah Im not really suggesting you guys fly out, I think we have enough yahookans along the route to potentially make this work, not that you canadians aren't welcome! come on down by any means!
ps this is not a thread for komp and sir to fight in this is a thread to start planning a grand and exciting joint adventure of epic awesomeness. No debbie downers allowed! |
