I hated running out of weed, shit was the worse. But unlike some others, I just went and got more money so I could afford to NOT run out. So far it's been a blast. Though if I had to pay any more than $200 an oz I'd definitely not be smoking as much.

On the road trip I decided that I would only smoke when it came to me as a gift, sharing or to buy a little and so far it's been great.

In Sept 2009 I house sat w/out herb for a month and then for nearly the next year had a month on and a month off due to traveling.

I must say it really changed my herb usage into 'something I do' more than a 'habit'

(Not like it's addictive, but we all smoke at fairly regular times each day I bet whether we need to or not)

So across the country I had about 10 days off until Colorado and then 3 going to Portland and in Portland I got hooked up.
For the next 23 days I had some, and then was dry for about 3 more days, smoked at an over nighter and took some along with me as a gift and have it for 10 days.
Before heading into AZ I rolled a few joints and gave the rest to my cousin-in-law who smokes but doesn't come across it/look for it often.
Smoked up 3 joints in 1.5 days and now I'm dry again.

I could probably scratch some up here, especially seeing the NM locals in this town, but think I might take some more time off and dry out a bit unless I'm at a home and someone passes me one.


Being dry sucks at times, but maybe try to see the silver lining in it as well.



For me the Buddhist 5th precept talks about refraining from irresponsible intoxicant usage as it can cloud the consciousness on way to enlightened mind, and I take this in my life to mean that I stay away from it during meditation and asanas(yoga), don't go to Sangha, Church or worship high and the like.

But for me the way I'm noticing this precept for me now is seeing a cop behind me and not having to sweat at all. I drive like a Quaker and all my lights work, so I'm basically only going to get pulled over in the midwest as an out of state long hair.... and yea... they stereotype cause it's true, I usually would have a little grass with me on a road trip... which IS something I enjoy about transit and not having a car 99% of the time, so this having a car again is a new experience in that realm

ANYWAYS.... that is the 'lining' I'm focusing on right now.
And like I said, my relationship is still strong, but my dry spells are more part of the cycle now instead of such an anomaly.
But believe me, when I have it I DO smoke it, albeit, I'm a 1/4 a month smoker , never the less I stay about 3 inches off the ground a large part of the day... not high... just lifted.
