Yeah, I can't eat bear, squirrel, any of the weird meats. Venison is as far as I'll go in weirdness. Just make a chili. That's how I ate venison. I've eaten squid and octopus.

Besides, I like bears too much. I value the life of a bear over most humans.

"Weirdest" meat I've eaten was monkey in Catemaco, Mexico. It was fucking good, tasted like a smokey steak more or less... There is a small island in the middle of the local lake that the monkeys live on. It started as an experiment that Cuernavaca University did many yrs ago, the monkeys thrived, they even learned to catch fish( without a rod or reel, although that would kick ass too)... Supposedly a lot of witches lived in that town, I miss traveling through Mexico, it was the best consecutive 3 months of my life...I strongly recomend any adventurous souls to travel across the country, I did it all in trains buses and taxis( VW beetles ) Lived like a king there...

I've seen the hideous food that Kitch cooks on Facebook.

I would probably disregard any of his advice.

I've heard of people eating monkey in Mexico. I find it not only disgusting, but creepy. Monkeys are more intelligent than a lot of people in modern times.

Eating insects has been an interest of mine recently. I hear they are healthy as long as you get ones that aren't around pesticides. The energy to weight of food eaten ratio is said to be higher than any meat...

when it comes to venison...all depends on where it lived, when it was taken...and the how in which it was was prepared...so much goes into properly preparing deer from the wild....way less than the farm raised...to which i know nothing....but can speak on behalf of the wild species....personall y we try and marinate out the wild taste/cedar after taste....with some butter milk for 3 hours ...i've heard of people using beer but not me...

eating monkey is not that common anymore due to laws protecting them. time ago you could eat seaturtle and iguana in the tropics, but now these are protected, and are not in the menus anymore, but I supose the Mayan population still do it.

if you are interested in insects, a mexican delicacy is escamoles (ant eggs) and as gross as it sounds, the couple times I built the balls to try them they were very good, cooked in salsa and then in a corn tortilla.

indigenous ppl in southern mexico eat fried grasshoppers, Ive tried but I cant say I like them.

hey Mr. T, how was the stew?
