To equate gay people with paedophiles is pretty strange logic.

More or less, this is true.

But the more insane someone thinks an opinion sounds (read:strongly worded) the more likely the thoughts about your thoughts is going to sound insane to you.

Over all, it'd be nice to have a good expression of a thought, and for both the speaker and the listener to respectfully to each other then be able to switch places and repeat, sharing a half decent, maybe somewhat heated conversation on the topic.
