This is cool! I grew up in Yreka, CA and have never heard of the Set-‘em-up story. Where did you learn of it?

Fun article. I liked it. thanks!
it's the deepest lake in the US, and the 9th deepest, in the world. The pics say it's beautiful, and not so creepy at all.

It's not a crater. It's a fucking caldera!! Gahhhhhhhhhhhhh Fuck these articles
"known in geology talk as a caldera" No. It's greater than 1mi diameter. You don't have to be a geologist to use proper terminology. Ok I clicked the link. I do not approve of this website. Speaking of Bigfoot / Sasquatch I watched the Trailer Park Boys the other night where Ricky and Bubbles beat the fuck out of Julian who was dressed as a Sasquatch outside Bubbles Shed ![]()

Yeah, so they called it a caldera. I don't get your point.
Also, it's totalllly crazy that a PARANORMAL blog would talk about Bigfoot. Fucking crazyyyyy ![]()

I saw this line and flipped out "It is a bright blue cistern of pure rainwater lying in the crater of a long-dormant volcano named Mount Mazama."
Cool story tho. The Indians have stories of Mount Mazama battling another god to the south which is pretty badass cause that's where Mt. Shasta is and both erupted around the same period. So stories like these can have some truth to them!

Yeah, it seems like most of the Indian lore is what drives a lot of the spookiness today. In reality I hear it is a real nice place and is pretty touristy now. Even though theres still weird dissapearances happening. You gotta realize the locals started calling this place Crater Lake decades ago, so their scientific or basic world knowledge wouldn't be what ours is today. I assume that's why it's referred to as a Crater in today's descriptions.
cra·ter [krey-ter] verb noun 1. the cup-shaped depression or cavity on the surface of the earth or other heavenly body marking the orifice of a volcano. Still makes sense anyways.

I know it would be odd to switch the name now. Being a geologist n all makes it bug me a bit more.
It is a very beautiful place. That island in the picture is Wizard Island. Fucking awesome name!!! P.S why does it say verb then noun ? also what about impact craters? does whoforted.com have a dictionary?
