a tough situation

Ok so at my work there's a very young couple, 17 and 18. About a month ago she found out she was pregnant. She wants to keep the baby and he doesn't. Fastforward to last night. He tells me he's planning on giving her some tea that will make her miscarry without her knowledge. I was floored and just walked away without responding. Of course I texted her right away to let her know. She was pissed but she still wants him to stay with her at her mom's. Says he'll be a good dad once the baby comes. I'm worried he's still gonna try something stupid. Should I just leave it alone or should I take further action?

Grieves 09-19-2014 08:42 AM

Depends on what helps you sleep at night.

Taking the moral high ground and "doing the right thing"

or

Letting it be and ignoring the situation.

It is a decision you and only you can make. Ask a million different people and you will get a million different answers and justifications.

Shadow619 09-19-2014 09:03 AM

What further action could you take?

Ncc 09-19-2014 09:06 AM

Don't get involved with kids drama. I totally get where the guys coming from.

Snowmayne 09-19-2014 09:07 AM

It's fuckd for someone to do that without the other person knowing/willing but at the same time it brings up the messed up views our society holds on abortions seeing how women can abort without the fathers knowledge permission.

"She was pissed but she still wants him to stay with her at her mom's. Says he'll be a good dad once the baby comes."

Seems like you already did the right thing. You informed her and she's decided.

You're done.

Unless you don't want to be for reasons you haven't revealed yet, and then I'd refer you to the last sentence in Grieve's post.

I don't know, tell her mom maybe?

Mayne I doubt he knows what he's doing and could easily poison her.

Grieves 09-19-2014 09:19 AM

Kitch just may be the world's worst super hero. He gets himself into all these moral conundrums and then uses yahooka to solve them.

fenderbender 09-19-2014 09:29 AM

id say you should just fuck the kid up. At least give him a couple good shots and put some fear in him to make him think twice.

Yeah it aint your place to get involved n shit, but regardless of all that you should just kick his ass for him being a little scumbag.
It isnt even like you are looking for a scumbag to beat up. He brought his scummy-ness to you, and your response should be a fist to his face.
Nothing to do with her, or their fetus, or their relationship. Just a matter between you and a scumbag IMO.

Telling her was a solid good guy move though. Props.

turmaline 09-19-2014 09:29 AM

Uhh that's murder IMO
Fucker

You did your part. It isn't your business. I'd keep myself as far removed as possible.

Grieves 09-19-2014 09:44 AM

Telling the mom could be a colossal backfire of ebin proportions.

"Did you know that blah blah was getting fed abortion tea by herp derp"

"That's nice hun, blah blah told me about you, that you had been texting her and acting inappropriately towards her and herp derp, pls leave or we will have to talk to your manager and get a no contact order"

"ruh roh"

I wish it worked like that. You guys never solve anything. If anything I end up more confused. The girl adores me btw she wouldn't say anything negative to her mom about me. I've been texting with her today and think I have her convinced to kick him out.

Babydaddy is an idiot. If that "abortion tea" hadn't worked as desired or brought undesired/unforeseen side-effects, he may have ultimately ended up with a severely disabled or deformed kid on his hands after poisoning it in-utero. Babymomma probably isn't a whole lot brighter than he is, if she really believes he'll spontaneously buck up once she pops.

I think it's safe to say you made the right move, kitch. What a mess, though :(

Oh boo-fucking-hoo. You're not the one that has to carry the thing for nine moneths then worry if dad's a piece of shit who might just bounce on you.

Terry 09-19-2014 10:14 AM

These kids sound like white trash anyways. Probably best for everyone if the fetus is aborted.

Oh boy, you are just setting yourself up to have this poor girl to imprint on you baby duck style and have it end up with you raising her and herp's kid.

Ncc 09-19-2014 10:25 AM

lol. Kitch now's your chance. Steal the girl and raise the child as your own in the wilds of the Amazon. No one will question who the father is. Pic's of these people please? If they fit my stereotype I'll be extremely pleased and smug about it.

Yes!!!! Give into the anger and stop being such a hippie!!!!!

kitch 09-19-2014 10:27 AM

Whatever grieves lol, can't win with you, if she doesn't accuse me of being innapropriare then she'll end up dependent on me lol. Definitely couldn't be that she respects my opinion and listens to me.

NCC she's 17. She's like my little sister. They're both good looking kids tho so probably not whatever stereotype you're thinking.
